Hi
This question comes out of curiosity and in an attempt to understand Muziboo and her members better
As a member of muziboo what are your expectations from Muziboo … For example
1. You are an amateur (like me) and are looking for an audience
2. You are a professional and looking for fans
3. You are a professional and you would like to sell your music here
4. You would like to find friends to create music with (collaborate)
5. You want to find new gigs to perform in
6. You are here just to checkout great music and may be find out about new events in town
(You can add more choices if you want)
Do pour in your thoughts .. I am just trying to understand what members here are looking for .. just a casual dialog … this is not a what feature would you want .. but more of a what would you want from muziboo as a whole
Looking forward to your replies
Regards

Its a combination of things for me. Primarily I am looking to collaborate with folks. Muziboo has also helped me get a better understanding or areas such as sound engineering. It has helped me make some great friends as well. Going forward, I am hoping to continue collaborating and making my own music at some point.
Thanks for your reply George
I feel for a lot of people, learning about recording techniques etc is something very new ..
however what I would love to see (and am even interested in driving) is those discussions in a group thread with more people involved .. so that its indexed and other people can also benefit from it .. do you agree with that ?
there have been only one or two discussions like that before (on recording techniques)... somehow the discussion in groups culture is not picking up .. what would you suggest for that ?

Interesting thought Prateek. I think we need a couple of groups.
a) Collaboration – A common place for all collaborative work to be posted. I dont think we need one group for each collaborative effort. Instead each effort is a topic, and all the songs are posted there. This will give us an idea of the growth of Muziboo and give people an idea about what others are working on.
b) Recording FAQ /Forum: This is where people who have questions regarding recording/effects/mic techniques etc post their queries. Someone like Sunny who has industry experience needs to take the lead on this.
c) I also feel that there needs to be the ability to sort users by location. This will give folks an idea of who is close by and maybe those folks can then meet up and do stuff together.
These are some early thoughts.. Folks, please chime in….
Thanks George .. please feel free to create a new group for collaboration ,,
we already have a group for basic recording ... sunny is already running a great post on it
For finding users with location .. try searching them in the search box .. i will also try to get a google map up in sometime so that we can browse members on the map .. .but as of now the search works great for locations
Hi Prateek,
You have started a nice thread – what r we here for? high time we answer this :) well, for me – i’m here to meet fellow musicians, collaborate and learn from them, make good friends, and check out all the musical talent that’s showcased on this portal. Muziboo got me excited about arranging guitar parts, recording and mixing, collaborating etc. And yeah, i am also here to get information about local gigs, to find gigs to perform in (like the brew ha ha one). This site is currently lacking a little in information. It’ll be great to see active forums on different topics with articles from the more experienced muziboo members (like Sunny, Gibson Guitarist, George, Shashank, Shourya Sircar, Vikram JS to name a few), not group specific but right on top somewhere. Forums for recording, guitar techniques (an insight into how the muziboo members have themselves evolved over the years with their guitaring), gig updates etc. Hope this makes sense.
Hi Abhishek
It actually makes a lot of sense .. we have been thinking of the same thing for sometime now
Latest by tomorrow, you will actually see the new group discussion activity on the group page (main page) just like you see recent music and recent comments on the music page .. I think that should address some of the issues
The better band pages are next on the agenda .. so that bands can send updates (not by email) to their fans or whoever is following them
I would just request you to take the next big discussion from your scribbles to a new group post .. so that we can bring the culture of group discussions in
Hi Abhishek
The recent group discussions and replies are now visible on the groups page … check them out .. I hope they will encourage more discussions in Muziboo
