I used my laptop with a cheap PC mic
For software I use audacity
Macbook, Garageband, built-in omni mike.
My PCs (one celeron another p4) with cheapest mike mankind can create, sometimes a duplicate plantronics headset. the machine has about 512 MB RAM .
Software: Mainly audacity, nero sound software
I’ve been using “Roxio” a software to record and a simple webcam for voice recording!!!! OK for a start I suppose !!
