No more live music in Bangalore!

The result of moral policing getting tighter in Bangalore is that, none of the lounge bars or restaurants can have dance or dance floors and worst still no live music ( cos that can provoke people into dancing!!) . The worst hit in Bangalore if I know right is Taika ( Where Abhishek Narayan and his band performed), Opus and few other pubs. It would be really sad if Opus is not allowed to have their karaoke evenings and other music performances. Hope they atleast spare the Java Ciy(s) of Bangalore where there is no alcohol.
Isn’t this real sad? When things were slowly improving in Bangalore with bands and individuals getting a chance to perform to a live audience, the BANG from the govt. is disheartening. I guess there was a protest in Cubbon park against this legislation. No clue, how far all such things can help.
This has definitely disappointed lot of Bangaloreans. Do share what you think.

damn …should we start a signature campaign?

Not sure about a signature campaign. However there was a protest in Bangalore. You can certainly blog about it and spread the word.

This sounds really retarded to me. I dont think this is good for Blore and will affect its reputation internationally. At this rate, they might start flogging thieves and cutting limbs of criminals like in Saudi :-)

George, It is graver than the international image of Bangalore getting spoilt. Lot of Djs and small time musicians who perform in restaurants will lose jobs bcos of this. I guess one of Muziboo users, DJ Jasmeet is quoted in TOI

What I meant with the international image is that most companies see Blore as one of the top places in India for Outsourcing because of the talent and also the cosmopolitan nature of the city. I feel this could also impact business. Its sad that the people whom we elect to govern make such stupendous decisions when there are much bigger issues to tackle.. Ridiculous!! Jo.. get the blogosphere rolling :-)
