Ideas for Muziboo 2.0

Hi PMD ,
Congrats for being half a year old now :) !!
One thing I think that you can include on the site is interviews of some of the bands here. I am sure junta will like to hear their views on music and all … and bands themselves will love to have an audience that listens to more than just their music. And if you can also get the interviews of some of the professional bands too that will be great !!
Other thing that I think is missing is the events section. I am sure some of the bands here do perform on weekends in some pub etc. and junta will surely like to know when and where. So an events section will be good where bands can put where they will be performing next – this works both ways – bands get their audience and I know where to look for the right music to go with my beer :)

On the fun part you can have some band trivia quizzes etc. :)

Congratulations on completing the 6 months and Muziboo have gone a long way already.

1) I would like to have two different players for each song. As of now, the uploaded mp3 file is compressed and the quality is not that good. So it will be good to have 2 versions – One for dial-up internet connections and the other for broadband connections. This will enable the listeners with broadband connections to listen to the song file in it’s original quality.

2) An MP3 download option for both the above mentioned versions – Perhaps you can add a checkbox in the “upload music” screen that asks “allow listeners to download this file?” and if the user check it, the “Download MP3 ” option should be visible with both dial-up and broadband players. Also in the embed code (to be displayed in the user’s blog or website) the download link should be visible. Also There can be separate embed code for both dial-up and broadband versions so that the user may choose which one he wants to copy and display in his/her blog or website.

3) Weekly or Monthly contests like “The voice of the month” or so. The most commented singer (voting should be limited to registered users to get rid of duplicate voting – also should be based on email verification) will get some prize/points or gets featured with all his songs on the front page etc.

4) Do the system automatically add original mp3 ID tags to it? Or do the info/tags that we add while uploading an mp3 file (from the Upload Music section) will be available while downloading (as mentioned in #1) the same? If so, what will happen to the ID tags manually added by the user to an MP3 file before he/she upload it to Muziboo? That is something to consider and the system may want to first check if the ID3 tags are already present in the MP3 file and if not, get the information added by the user in the site available as ID3 info.

what about a firefox addon for muziboo?? ;)

i really like the player u hav put fr the favoutie music but there should still be a page where u can have links to the favourite music so we can add a comment or sumthing like tht….........wht u can do is let the player be in the my account page but also there should be the Your Favourite music link like how it used to be.

and also try to make it possible to post songs on orkut profile if u can…..i dunno but its an idea…...i would love to have my music posted on my orkut profile!!
