Hello all,
Certain friends here are still unclear about what MuziCast is, how it works and how to subscribe to it.
Well, its not that complicated.
What is MuziCast?
Its a weekly Podcast to unveil the purest underground music.
Then, what is a Podcast?
Podcast is a concept designed by Apple Inc. initially for iPods. It enabled the iPods to receive the episodes of audio show regularly in MP3 or AAC format. The concept of Podcast became famous followed by iPod success.
How to receive / download a Podcast?
Let me simplify. When you turn on radio, you receive signals of a particular show. Like wise, when you add the feed of a podcast to a Podcast Grabbing software, it checks the feed link automatically to see if any new show is up, and if it is, downloads to your PC as per your settings.
What is a feed?
Feed is to podcast what Radio Broadcast Station is to a radio. Feed contains details of new episodes, when they are released and what are the descriptions the author of the show has put inside.
What softwares are available to grab / receive a Podcast?
Thousands. Really. But to name a few good ones, here are some.
– iTunes
– Winamp
– Juice
– Podcast Amp
– Doppler
– Any RSS aggregator (your browsers too!)
– Your Mobile Phones (iPhone, Nokia, etc.)
How to set up a software to receive the Podcast?
I can’t describe it for all, but it won’t be too tough to search it into your own music players. Thoguh, I’ll describe it for winamp, as an example.
Setting Winamp to receive the podcast.
Winamp 5.0 +
First, go to Media Library in Winamp. Look for Podcast Directory in the menu. Click on Subscriptions under that. Now, click on ADD and copy the feedburner link provided below in it. [Link: http://feeds.feedburner.com/muzicast/ ]. Now, you’ll see options for default / custom settings. Choose custom settings, and set Update Every”field to Daily, it will check daily whether a new episode it up. When a new episode is released, it will show under Subscriptions after you Refresh it. Or, simply check the Download New Media Automatically option. And a new episode will be downloaded as soon as it is released, and will be shown under Downloads in the Podcast Directory. Thats it!

A very simple way to get the podcast on your harddrive would be to install itunes and then click on the Subscribe in itunes link just below the player on any song. In one click you will be subscribed to the music from that user. Every new track will automatically be downloaded to itunes.
This goes for Muzicast as well as *any* other member’s music on muziboo.
