Chhupa Lo Yun Dil Mein Pyaar Mera (Duet)
Chhupa Lo Yun Dil Mein Pyaa... Lyrics & Chords
Today is Hemant Da’s Smruti Din. Me and Vidhyaji humbly wish to dedicate this soul song to him by means of our lo………ng waited rendition. I have no words to describe the beauty of this wonderful melody composed by Roshan ji which transports into another world…. full of fascination. This music moves the heart and soul. Hemant da and Lata ji have granted immortality to this song. The purity of love depicted in this song is incomparable. No matter how many times we listen this song, still the charm remains the same.
I was literally awe-stuck when I read “Salil Choudhari ji often used to say…” If God could sing, he would have a voice like Hemant Da.” What else could be said about the legend? When I decided to go for this old classic from Mamta (1966), I was wondering whether I’ll be able to give justice or not. Friends…. I literally have strived to come to this level. Just for your information, this is a result of my 20+ retakes and I know, still there are lots of improvements needed to go nearer to what Salil da had said.
Thanks to Vidhya ji for her acceptance to sing this wonderful melody with an amature singer like me. She has guided me in many aspects during this rendition. I really owe her. What a singer Vidhya ji is ! She has put everything in her rendition which cannot be expressed in words…. The emotions, the feel of romance, the affection, the touch of spirituality, worship and sacrifice…… as the lyrics take us to great heights. I would also thank Sarmistha ji for suggesting some finishing touches which certainly have enhanced the final output.
I strongly feel…. a song like this, comes only once in a while…. So, through this tribute to Hemant Da on his death anniversary today, I want to express my deeeeeep gratitude towards the almighty God for bringing me in this Beautiful World of Music, where I am able to listen such masterpieces and could at least attempt to sing and share my performances with you. Bye till next month. Awaiting for your frank comments……

Dear Chandrakant-ji & Vidhya-ji,
Lovely selection, and awesome singing….! As Harshan had pointed out above, Chandra Ji seems to have pronounced Jaise as Zaise…. Otherwise, both of you have rendered just perfectly.
It is heart-warming to see a lot of praises above for Hemant Da…. I would like to share with you all that he seemed to have been a God in his personality and humility too, and not only in his voice and singing….
We are Tamilians from Chennai. My (late) father had the honor of endearing to Hemant Da, as his ardent fan, during my dad’s brief stint at Durgapur West Bengal in the 1960’s. Hemant Da apparently used to host my dad at his home in Kol and sing dozens of songs to him in private. Hemant Da’s son played the tabla, I was told.
Hemant Da once performed at Music Academy in Chennai around 1972-ish…. I was 3-year-old or so at that time. All in my family had attended the concert. We seemed to have met him backstage during the intermission. My dad introduced all of us family members to Hemant Da…., and we all paid our respects to the maestro. After the introductions, my dad seemed to have cajoled me to sing a song to Hemant Da….
I seemed to have sung a line or two of Hemant Da’s own song “Na Ye Chaand Hoga”, to his surprise :-) ! Hemant Da, upon resuming the second half of the concert, apparently sang the same song as his first number, as his treat to our family, his devoted fans :-) !
200% true story above…. just to recollect and showcase the humility and magnanimity of these yester-year maestros, and to highlight that music indeed has no boundaries…. Those were golden years indeed….
Many thanks for letting me share….
Kind regards,
Hemanth

Hi Chandrakant Ji…Firstly Thank you very much for inviting me for this lovely treat…Superb feel, great pick…perfect surs awesome delivery and through…Vidhya as well…she has a mystic touch in her voice witch makes different feel and effect…It’s my Fav song since my childhood…what a great composition…I’ll also go with you that if god could have sing it would have like Hemanto…Lata also said once that listening and watching Hemant Da singing is like a Saadhu praying in Mandir. At last one thing I should say that you was singing " Ki Zaise mandir" instead of Jaise…May be you are Marathi and not so friendly with Hindi…but anyway if you make it it would be nice, if you don’t it really doesn’t matter…what matters you already have done…Keep up Sir…Great going….
