Great attempt Bodhi. The song sounds very different in your voice because your voice texture is different from that of Kailash Kher. I feel you could have sung it more open-throated. Nice expressions. There were slight pitching issues. However, considering the difficulty level, u have done a commendable job!

Your voice texture is totally different from Kailash Kher and I liked the way you adopted this song and gave it a new meaning. In my opinion, we should not compare this with the original. This one souned really good. 5/5 for this brilliant effort.

Good job, Bodhi…you’ve sung this well! The vocals in the original, I think, are softer….more laid back. Agree with the above comment tho’….its best not to compare at this point….as a stand alone piece of work, this is pretty good……enjoyed listening!

Good attempt Bodhi. You have a very good voice.
Its a tough song. Could hear some off-pitches.

Did you do a “noise reduction” when mixing in your vocal track? Maybe thats why the vocals sound a bit metallic. If not done correctly, this feature removes the essence from our vocals.

Keep uploading more such challenging songs. Good job.

Never heard this song before, felt a bit close to “Lage Man Ki Lagan”.

Read the comments above, agree that its a tough song, you have sung this really well, your voice fluctuated a bit and this song has lot of standing notes, may be what Rashmi said is right about noise gate, took away a bit of beauty from your rendition. I liked the effort, try uploading it again with a better mix.

Bodhi….this is a song I have sung umpteen times on stage….because it has all my respect and love. I would say it was a good attempt….but there is a lot of improvement that is required in the way you have handled the mudkis and also the overall feel of this song. It’s a folkish Sufi number….however your version sounds ‘more’ polished….and slightly lacks the earthy madness/passion required. Listen and internalize the track a few more times and you would know what I am talking about.

Nothing to take away from you though….it’s indeed a very good attempt :) Keep singing buddy…and forgive me if I sound always like perfectionist ^&&&^&^….can’t help it man :)

Waiting for version 2….I am sure it would be much better :)

Your high notes are fine. But lower notes are suspect (example sai"yaan" 0:28, mera 0:33). you may want to consciously avoid the tremolo creeping in. Thanks for introducing the song to me.

Tough song (not because it has been composed tough but has been sung tough) Kailash Kher is not a composer in true sense (He is originally a tailor by profession)…he sings as it goes and and as he likes it and then such songs become tough because these dont follow a Raag or definite pattern of real music….that way your effort is great….congrats
