Sync more playlists!
We pushed out a change last night that helps you subscribe to your favorite music playlist, tag playlists and search playlists using Rss or iTunes. So its even easier to keep a tab on new music being uploaded. Look for the RSS and iTunes icon on the left column on these pages.
Happy Syncing!
When West Meets East
The world at this point is definitely a melting pot with a potpourri of cultures getting a chance to appreciate one another-be it for the beauty of a language or a particular style of music or the philosophy of a religion. In Muziboo, we came across two interesting uploads. One is a Brit by name Joanne Singleton writing, composing and singing a song for her love in Mandarin and another a Russian woman by name Natasha experiencing her musical thrills by singing Bollywood numbers.
Do give a listen!

Audio comic series reminiscent of Hitchhiker’s guide
The radio series of Hitch Hiker’s guide to galaxy was definitely a cult and guess it has inspired and still inspires many into trying out similar audio comic series. Came across Kyle Puttkammer’s entertaining 3-part series. Everything’s very well done (not judging the storyline here) , just misses a punchy title music. Here you go!

Introducing On-Player Music Recommendation
We recently rolled out an interesting feature and some of you may have already experienced it. We now show recommended music on the player after the current song is over. Once you click on a song, you are taken to the song page and you can play it
Its a fun way to discover some new music so do try it out on any of the music on Muziboo or one of the embeds in this or other blogs.
Have Fun!
Sweet sounds from the newbies
In Muziboo, the first timers with their sweet sounding curtain raisers have never failed to put a smile on our faces. Came across a few of them in the last few days. I would love to introduce you to Dibble with his first recording of drums, Jasper on his first piano piece and Kelsey at her first attempt as a rock-star.

Indian Idol - Love it or hate it?
A couple of weeks back, we had a very interesting discussion on Muziboo about Indian Idol, the music talent show. Basically we asked our members what they like or hate about Indian Idol. There were quite a few interesting and detailed responses that are worth checking out.
- A few excerpts
- SMS voting does not make sense
- There are no shows for composers
- Singers can’t really learn from these shows and improve
- Long and tiring audition process where people are selected more for their presentation than singing

Muziboo celebrates its 1st B’Day
Muziboo is a year old now! The first song on Muziboo went live the same day a year back and a lot has happened since then. With the various changes introduced now, you might almost wonder if you landed on the right place at all! But don’t worry it’s your same old friendly hang-out :) Do read on to know what exactly has changed
Design
The redesign is both cosmetic & functional and had been executed to provide a better user experience in terms of ‘look & feel’, navigation and content discovery. The two dimensions of Muziboo ‘Music’ and ‘Community’ are made separate entry points. The ‘Music’ page is specifically designed to showcase the 10 best songs of the previous week. This chart is based on a smart algorithm which mines the most interesting content of the week considering various factors like play-count, rating, favoriting and comments (excluding duplicate ones and the ones made by the author of the song). All user-activities including comments and group discussions are moved to the ‘Community page’. Kindly post all your songs to relevant ‘groups’ for easy discovery.
Policy
Uploading in Muziboo is free up-to 20 songs. Beyond that, users have to upgrade their accounts to ‘pro’ membership which is a yearly subscription of $25.95. For users who have already exceeded the 20 song limit, the cap will be set to ‘number of songs uploaded + 5′. For example, if a user already has 21 uploads, his/her cap would be at 21+ 5 which is 26. Beyond 26, the user has to upgrade his/her account.
The policy change has been brought in, to make Muziboo a sustainable platform inspite of the growth in user base and activity. We extend our thanks to George Kuruvilla, Radio Idli, Sudeip Ghosh, Nitin Dubey, Suresh Bhagavatula, Abhishek Narayan, Shashank Gokhle, Muzicast, Devkinandan Tokekar and Arun Raja in welcoming this change by upgrading their memberships to ‘pro’ during beta.
Muziboo is committed to provide you with a better experience. Do stay tuned for an Orkut application to showcase your music and other exciting monthly contests!
You can also post your feed-backs in the official thread.
