I have a passion for Indian Music. I consider Indian music to be conceptually the most advanced, it is in fact Object Oriented (will make sense to those who inclined towards IT). I will explain this someday in my blog.

I grew up to my Mother’s Carnatic classical music and some light music training by Sri Lakshmi Keshav of Bangalore during my school days. I also learnt Mridangam under Sri V S Rajgopal for 8 years.

My real passion was vocal music and got really active during my college days. I won a lot of inter-collegiate competitions and was known for singing Kishore Kumar numbers. During my Masters degree I got the chance to appear on TV on Anthakshari and Mast Must Show (with Shaan) which were great experiences.

After that I underwent some voice culturing under Pt. Parmeshwar Hegde of Bangalore. Once I started travelling on work, my pursuits in classical music had to take a back seat. I was part of a short lived band called Blue Streaks during my days at IBM.

I started home recording to keep my passion alive. Ever since I moved to Toronto, my music activity has exponentially increased. I did three successful stage shows in the space of 4 weeks.

I have now got the prestegious opportunity of singing patriotic songs at the Indian Consulate in Toronto on January 26th. I am eagerly looking forward to it.

Update from April 2009: I won the Idol Contest Organized by the Kannada Sangha of Toronto. The prize was a two nights stay at Niagara Falls.

Update from August 2009: I got the prestigious opportunity to sing at the India Day celebration on August 9th at Yonge and Dundas Square in Toronto. I sang three patriotic songs and one of them – Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon brought people to their feet.
