I usually don’t dare to sing Sunidhi’s songs but I simply could not resist singing this one.
Sunidhi also got the Best Female Playback Singer award for this one back then.

I sang this with Azam Khan from Portland,Oregon who apart from doing an awesome job singing this,helped me with the mixing as well.

It was interesting to read from Wikipedia that in January 2009, the track “Beedi” was used as the theme tune to a Brazilian TV soap opera called Caminho das Índias, produced by Rede Globo. On the back of this success, “Beedi” received considerable airplay on pop radio stations in Brazil becoming the first Hindi-only song to achieve this. The mini-series’ soundtrack, which includes the track, went on to become one of the biggest selling albums of the year.
