Asim da ….great song pick and very nicely rendered…agree with Paras on her observation….the humming indeed sounded like Hemantda. If I have to nit pick it would be some gadbad with beats in the middle ….but overall you have done very well.

Thanks for your good words. Glad that the mixing came out OK, and to your liking. It surely makes a difference when a track is produced using the actual instruments, be it string or percussion, isn’t it? Today, keyboard does it all, from accordion to santoor to bamboo flute.

Considering the recording tools you have you can come up with even better results. Remember tools facilitate the job get done but it is your own artistry and creativity that will bring life into your presentations. Gem of a cover of a gem of a song! Loved the voice, the mix, the mood, the feel, everything! The only minor shortcoming I felt was in the opening highs of the stanzas, where you sounded l’il restrained.

But if you want my honest opinion, since you are such a good singer, I would advise you, in the future, to choose the correct scale that you are comfortable with. Commenting particularly on this rendition, I found that your voice was straining in the ‘Antara’. As a result there was a loss in the texture of your voice and slight deviation in the ‘Sur’. Very nicely rendered Asim ji! Loved your voice here as well… lot of depth and bass in it. Tum Bhi Chalo… I just love this song… sung by my favorite singer ever, KK, and picturised on none other than Big B. This is obviously a very old recording… having heard one of the more recent ones, I know you have mastered your mixing art as well… :) I had been thinking of uploading a cover of this song soon… maybe I will have to wait a bit now that I heard your’s… ;)
