Hi Ashraf,
Thanks for inviting me to comment on this.
After listening to your version I hunted the original album song online and got it at:
http://www.4shared.com/get/50065393/eb09dd29/Priyamaanu_Misriya_-_Karale_kulire.html
The original was nice and there are a lot of small nuances sprinkled in this song. Unfortunately when I heard your version, these nuances were a bit too difficult for you and you were going off pitch frequently.
Sorry for the negative feedback here but it was quite pitchy with limited voice control.
Please keep singing and practising.
Cheers.

liked ur song selection Ashraf…me too sung quite a few mappila pattus n school :) though karale kuyile s not exactly that genre. ur mood and voice suits the song very well…hAvent heard d original, so cant comment on d nuances of the song…still feel dat u could try to make nuances sound clearer and better…y dont u try one of the famous mappila pattus? like pathipalathilum stuthiyerum makkamil mukkiya etc…

Arvind Ji: Thanks for the comments, according to me it’s not at all negative comments. I know my limitations. Such constructive feedback are only helping to improve myself. So, pls feel free to write anything, as u do usual.
Jane: Quite surprise to hear that u like mappila songs. I usually sing quite few of them, but I was little hesitant how it is accpeted here. So from now, u can expect more mappila songs from me. Thanks for the encouragement.

Ashraf ….very good attempt of a mappala pattu :-) You have a very expressive voice ….just felt some shakiness in the notes in this rendition …not sure if it was meant to be like that.
Improvement areas are already mentioned so not going there…very honest attempt ….keep it up ….will give you my full stars for this expressive rendition….keep improving with every post. By the way the original singer is from my home town :-)

Ashraf…
Good one. I too have not heard the original, though I thought you sang quite well. Slight shaky at some places, but nothing major. Some sangatis could have been more perfect.
Like Jane I too felt that this does not ideally fall under the category of Maappila Paattu. Being from Calicut I know the people of Malabar area love these type of songs very much. We all have grown hearing to such songs all around us…I too wish to try a Mappila Paattu some day, though am too scared to attempt it.
All the best…

Tara: Yes, i also felt my previous one is better than this. But thought I should bring this genre of music also here. Mappila Paattu, according to me, is traditional muslim songs, widely accepted in Malabar Area. Now the definition has been changed, now it could be anything, even the remake of hindi tunes!!!
Arun: You made my day man, my first song going to somebody’s fav. thanks for that.
Harshan sir: While posting this one, I was thinking about u coz I know tht the singer is from ur home country. Did u ever hear his songs? Wht’s ur opinion abt his singing. BTW, thanks for your comments.
Krish Ji: Thanks for your valuable comments. Yes, this is not exactly mappila song. As I mentoned earlier, now the definition has been changed. You should try some mappila songs. There some really challenging songs out there. If u wish i will send some tracks.
George: Thanks for your time man. I’m quite happy to hear from you.
Kumar: Thank you for ur comments and the area of improvements are noted.

Hi Ashraf,
Good singing.
Actually mappila songs have altogether a different language. Moinkutty vaidyar’s songs are real mappila malayalam songs.
