Good song well sung…Heard a few off pitch notes at sone places. The mixing was not up to the mark…the Backing track was too loud as a result the vocal was very weakly audible…
Keep singing and sharing…

Ashraf Bhai,
Very well sung. Felt the k-track was a little too loud compared to your voice . Some off notes were there. Overall good attempt.

First time here man, never heard this song before, I think no one covered it so far in the blog world. You got a nice voice and your expressions were good, felt a bit off at places, may be something to do with your mixing. Keep them coming :-)

Ashraf ….never heard this song before:-) Hence cant comment on the nuances of the rendition.
Agree with shrini ….the voice is heard only in 1 channel. Also with NVK sir the BGM is a bit louder than your vocal.
Thanks for introducing me to this beautiful melody ….keep singing and sharing

Good rendition Ashraf.
As Kumar mentioned, your vocals was only heard from one channel.
Concentrate more when you are doing the high notes, coz you are just short of the correct pitch.
Do practice, you sure can do much better.

Good singing, your voice is great……as Rashmi pointed, the voice is less audible and is only from one channel… perhaps you’re using some Karaoke machine with mismatched balance….
and a bit off on those high notes, but overall, a good singing , great melody….

Hello! Ashraf,
Pleasant voice and great melody. I have to admit i am not very familiar with Malayalam and the song. But agree with the rest regarding audio issues.
Good luck !

My Dear Ashraf Bhai,
You’ve got melody & softness in your voice supplemented by talent. It’s the mixing that needs a lot of improvement. I think if you could re-do the mixing, this could be a lot better.
Hearty Congrats ! Full marks to you ! Keep it up !
GOD Bless !
Loving Best Wishes,

HI Ashraf,
Nice song and composition based on the Hanumatodi carnatic melakarta scale, or referred to simply as the Thodi raga in carnatic music. It’s North Indian equivalent is the Bhairavi thaat.
The basic notes of the Thodi scale are:
S, R1, G1, M1, P, D1, and N1.
However, they have also used D2 in the charanam part to give a variation. This particular raga is a liberal one where composers take liberal advantage, sometimes even to use all the 12 swaras in this ragam.
Thodi (or Bhairavi Thaat) is a very vast raga with a lot of compassion and devotion. It is a serious (morning) raga that depicts peace and sometimes sadness, depending on usage.
So why all this harping?!. I am NOT an expert in classical music, but it is a treasure that gives us some guidance into what songs are based on!. The fun thing is, we can actually find out what a song is based on, with a bit of listening (with a harmonium/Keyboard). This gives us better guidance on how to sing a bit more with correctness and confidence. It’s like a rule book to play the game better!. If you know the rules of LBW, then you will know how to use your pads correctly, right?!.
Ashraf, your voice is begging you for musical knowledge. Please spend time studying it (with a keyboard possibly). It is never too late to learn the basics of music. You will enjoy your singing much more and sing so much more with confidence.
Your voice shows very good potential but it is lacking in musical guidance. The only way for you is to learn music to some extent. At least have someone explain to you all the basics and do some basic exercises. This will help you greatly.
I felt like saying the above, rather than commenting on your singing of this song. I wanted to get to the root of your problem … and the problem is coming through in the song!. Your voice is nice in many parts of the song but it seems to lose its radar now and then. This is simply because you are not aware of what notes to sing … if you learnt a bit of music you will breeze through it with your melodious voice.
I am saying this to you … because I like your voice and it shows good potential.
Some are really gifted with ‘singing by ear’ and others sing well because they have learnt music to varying degrees. I feel that you fall in the category that needs to learn a bit of music properly.
Cheers and please take this as constructive advice. A bit longer than I intended. Cheers.

Arvind Ji…wow…this we really call contstructive feedback. I really admire you for your intention. Even though I’m busy with my work, sure, I will find time learn at least the basics. As u said “it’s never late to learn”.
Thank you very much.

I totally agree you have such a nice voice:-).your singing would be enhanced with only learning.Though I did not understand the language I liked the song.offcourse barring issues like pitching problems etc etc.It needs a lot more practice.I think its based upon the raga sindhu bhairavi.Such a beautiful raga which would take you to another different world.keep singing:-).
