Pramadhavanam - My first Karaoke Experiment
Pramadhavanam - My first Ka... Lyrics & Chords
My first ever Karaoke experiment recorded in 2003 from a stage show

I sang it once again on stage in 2006 which I believe is better off the two:

Murali:
Nice voice. Felt that it was shaky at places and there were offs here and there but considering that this was your first attempt back in 2003, it is understandable. Your recent songs such as andholanam is an example of what you are capable of singing.

Murali … very nicely sung and an excellent live performance … shows how much attention to detail you have also given. To be frank, if I were you I would concentrate on building and projecting just the timbre and openness of your voice … your musicality is all there without question and a pleasure to listen!.
By the way, no idea what Uthra (above) is talking about … I did not hear any offs or shakiness as such and I think the comment is misleading, for your info.
Would love to hear more of your current recordings as a singer. Cheers.

This is absolutely blissful!!!
My all time favorite…I have not finished listening, but could not resist putting the comment…Wonderflly sung!! It s indeed a very difficult song to sing. If you could sing the kanaka kireedam ithaniyumbol in one breath it would have been just perfect! U have sung the same part in the second charanam with so much of ease and perfection…Amazing Murali… bring em on…

This is definitely a good rendition, though the recording was not at its best. Can you share the details of the original track. I simply love the composition……

Thank you Uthra, Aravind, Ramya, Jane and Bala.
Aravind: I am posting my old songs because I am moving them form one server to another. I will soon be posting some recent ones. you comment about the timbre : In other words, it is about recognizing one’s voice’s weak and strong points and highlight the strong points. that is what I have been trying to do all these years.
Jane : I did this live once again later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo49tWXybXM
Bala : It is from the film His highness Abdullah.

Murali … Thanks for eliciting my point … apart from highlighting the strong points, we also need to work on our weak points because we cannot hide it for ever; it is sure to emerge its ugly head in some song or the other!. Better to eliminate that risk even if this takes hard work, provided one has the commitment to do so. I dare say that most of us know what our weak points are and people are likely to pick up on it until we notably improve on them … no point denying it. Just my obvious 2 cents worth!.

Murali,
Choosing this song itself is a big deal and you did a wonderful job at it!! The only places where I felt it could have been better is the gamakams for “Mrudu raagam choodi” (pardon me if lyrics are wrong). It was to do with the swarams in the gamakam and not the way it is sung. Nevertheless, this goes into my favs.
Cheers!

Thanks Moncy, Bodhi, ramya and Krishna. As Uthra rightly said, there indeed some offs. Thanks to all the pointers.

Hi Murali, good rendition. Especially the gamakams were awesome. I came across many of your songs in esnips. Thanks for giving us some good treat to our ears.

This remains as one of the toughest songs to render, and you have done fantastically well, Murali!!!!

Murali,
Very bad attempt. Sorry to say that. Most of the places it is shaky and you have not learnt this song properly. Most of the notations you have sung is wrong. You have a good voice. that’s the only plus point here.
Better luck next time.

Very well done Murali, that too being your first attempt!
This is a blogspot where anyone can listen to songs and one is free to give the comments!
Tolerance from both the sides (the Artist and the audience) is needed. This is my humble opinion.
Let us use this opportunity to encourage others while still pointing out the areas of betterment!
Loved your voice and singing Murali!
Keep them coming more often!
