Murali – excellent choice of song. Despite your disclaimer, didnt find too many issues. The areas i thought could be better are – The real low notes could be sung better – you know the ones am talking about. Feel at some spots was excellent , but could be maintained more consistently i thought. The tam diction creeped in at a couple of words :-). But, liked your renditon anyway.

Hope you remember me…??? We were having a nice time at car while coming back from Chennai Muziboo meet (fruitful discussion on music & even my composition – “Nee Varuvolam”)…………I can never forget that moment in my life as i got lot of fresh information on music……

Such a wonderful song & it’s popularity is the main problem to all of us for convincing others with our cover….I think , that’s why yourself had taken an apology in advance !!! he he he……But a great individuality like you doesn’t need to come with such write-up sir………Coz , we all know you will never ever try to cover a song as it looks like in the original……There are a few reasons why i have noted the same here………

1. Your personal dislike towards singing the songs that are already covered originally
2. An extreme desire cum pledge to cover either own compostions or keerthanams with lot of chance to improvise….
3. Due to deep & clear knowledge in classical music , it will be very tough to stay away from the purity of the raagas used in the cinema songs rather than going along with the one , in which the musicians had molded it for commercial purpose….So your covers may end up in exploring the exact path of the raagas of the same songs & it will come out a bit different than the original….This particular song is made in “Aanandhabhairavi”……A pure raaga which gives us fresh energy & great feel always….Some of the nice songs in malayalam by using the same are “Chethi mandaaram thulasi” , “Aaraattinaanakal Ezhunnalli” , “Sabarimalayil thanka sooryodayam” , “Thusharamanikal puliki” etc…….What a beautiful raaga it is !!!

So i am not at all dare to comment on the issues of this cover & really telling from the heart….“IT’S A DECENT & CLEAN COVER OF VAALKANNEZHUTHIYA MAKARANILAVIL !!!”

An immaculate tune which can easily be stacked with the best renditions in MalayaLam… As I listen to this for the very first time, my inference may sound unjust, but truly a tranquilizer titillating a bruised heart… :-) Your song picks have always been applauded by those excelling in music… I am yet to explore into your zone and I very much hope that it happens… Your voice is attributed with a different tone and texture which is a biggest plus and I did notice, you were struggling a bit on dealing with the lower notes… But I shouldn’t really comment on that parameter since I have to travel miles to reach ur level of singing without tampering those base notes, as you do… From the conversations I have with you pertaining to music/composing everyday, I should admit that you are undoubtedly resourceful… Do open your chest of original compositions that we all can plunge and rejoice… Will look for that tag, with ur name to get vanished soon… :-)
