Its “Aati Kya Khandala” time:) YAY. Double happy because no one has covered this song before and we are the FIRST ones to cover it on Muziboo:)
Its been a long time since Sarmi and I covered something and I am glad to present this non-chalant song from the movie Ghulam.
Aati Kya Khandala is a boy’s request to his lady love to go to Khandala with him. The song became an instant hit and is one of Bollywood’s most popular songs ever, to the extent that Rani Mukherjee became known as Khandala Girl.
The original song has been sung by Amir Khan and Alka Yagnik. Amir Khan is so talented that every thing he does carves a niche for himself. This song is no different. The expressions in his voice is so hilarious in the original and Alka Ji is at her usual best singing for Rani. I tried bringing in the same flavor and Sarmi has covered this one beautifully too.
The laugh’s at the start are so wonderfully done that I was dumbstruck to hear them at first. But when Sarmi is there, nothing can be impossible:) Whatever she covers, she tried to make it as perfect as possible and that quality is a very rare one to find. There are few people in my life I absolutely adore and Sarmi is surely one of them.
