Confidence or Over Confidence:) Judge Yourself

Friends,
IGNORANCE IS BLISS – READ FOR YOURSELF
I wanna share an funny incident with you all that happened a couple of days back. Gautam Parekh, commented on my and Sarmi’s song recently. This person did not even had the courtesy to write my name while commenting and his comment was offensive to me. Writing the singers name is the basic courtesy rather than writing “male singer”. People learn addressing people with their names in kindergarten but looks like this person never went there. Anyhow, since I have dealt with such episodes in the past, I gave him a piece of my mind which I always do because I don’t think anyone here deserves the right to offend others and if they do, they cannot go scottfree, at-least with me. He is such a self centered, ignorant person that he does not care how his words offend others but he himself gets so worked up (GOSH) when he got some back.
Nevertheless, I see his recent upload and I am going ROFL. Check his recent upload HERE:). Read his write up there. I would like to tell him one thing, Dude, be a MAN and write my name in your writeup because I am know you are talking about me and I want everyone to know about it. So stop amusing yourself and do it right.
I still would like to clarify that my response to your vague comment was not because you mentioned something negative or criticized me. I am on this forum for 3 years now and You can ask any person on this forum about how I take feedback and you will get your answer. Some random guy like you who comments once in a blue moon on my space can never ever hurt me, even if you try so, you can’t. So give it a rest.
Friends, he also writes “Wo Jitne songs gaate hai, Mein gaa sakta hun, Agar wo mein jo gaa sakta hun, wo gaa kar dikhaye to maan lun……(Its not my ego-But its my confidence….Not over confidence….Please do not miss understanding….)
- Well this made me laugh so hard. Can you sing Twinkle Twinkle little star like my 4year old Niece and come out on top as a winner??? Ask yourself:)
Gautam, you need to understand one thing, This place is not for any competition or open challenges. Learn to be humble and not get so worked up. I will never in my life would write something like this even if I am hurt by someone’s comment because its not productive at all. You probably are immature in handling situations like these and you will hopefully learn with time.
To conclude, I would still say, your recent upload (song choice and its lyrics), I am sure it was meant to offend me more, flopped badly in my book. But sure it made me smile:) So thank you for that.
I would like everyone to comment on this post making this person realize that life has more important things to achieve. Gautam, I wish you good luck for the future and on this forum. Do your parents proud rather than delving in such stupid arguments which will do no good to you.

Rahul I agree to your view point….every person has a name and its extremly rude to say ‘male singer; or ’female co-singer’…I only did that once in muziboo very recently…because the person was acting like a star. I told that person further in my scribble that no one is perfect….and that if that person thinks that he or she is perfect…then I will only comment if its a perfect rendition:) my bad but ho jatha hai…after we are all human beings…and we are here just for the passion of music.
With regards to i can sing what she can sing or he can sing …seems like kid talk. Everyone can sing…some people sing in pure sur….but lack feel….some people go off occasional but the feel is awesome…some have diction issues…some are trained …some are not…some are mimics …some are not…some just sing one genre…some are more flexible….some are old and some are not so old…lol.the fact of the matter is look at the total package…what is the song, did the singer interpret the song correctly and did some justice…I have heard only near perfect renditions here….the perfect ones are manufactured in the studios these days…with 100 tracks for 1 song. This is not surprising …because if we were all perfect singers….then why would be post our work here and seek comments ? Hai na….we are all living our individual lives…leading different professions and just share a bit of music to bring in some fun…so let the fun prevail and the let the spirit of competition be sprayed elsewhere in the sports arena…….Home Shanti :) Its just a question of letting the ego take a break while deciphering comments….otherwise this is not the place to post …sometimes it could be wahs and sometimes it will be some constructive feedback. Just recently… I said “ankhom” is not correct to a post and it has to sound “ankhon” the person seems to be irritated and asking ME why its not correct… and it always sounds “ankhom” bolo …is there a word like that in hindi….nahi na….next time i will just say ….very nice …for all his songs…LOL

Rahul bhai,
I read your comment to Gautam bhai on your and Sarmi’s song and then I also read Gautam bhai’s introduction to his latest upload but I have not read the original comment which offended you…. but that’s of least importance to me….I have stated the above just to say that I think I have witnessed most of what was exchanged in the public forum.
Out of this and a 2 or 3 such altercations during last 6-8 months I have witnessed on this forum leads to me draw the following;
1. Be respectful to every one, in the way you address each other (Use respectful terms like “Ji”, “bhai”, “Sahab”, etc. at the end of their names) unless you have become close friends
2. Do NOT use profanity or insulting words or statements even when you have to make a strong point.
3. Provide honest feedback but be mindful of maintaining the recipient’s self-esteem. Consider providing pointed negative feedback in private (use scribbles feature).
4. Do NOT provide “fake” positive / favorable feedback (such as “wah wah”, “adding to favs”, etc.) when the performance is mediocre at best. This is the other extreme (wrong direction) in providing honest feedback.
5. Not every one can be expected to react the same way for exactly the same treatment…… so, the feedback provider has the higher burden to be measured in expressing his / her opinions.
6. By chance… if one winds up saying something in open forum that is offensive to some one then apologize in public forum sooner rather than later.
BE HAPPY, LIFE IS TOO SHORT

There are people who are totally rude and insensitive…I have seen that in my posts too. You were little lucky he mentioned “Male Singer” , on my post I was totally ignored lols……and the irony is ,like me they happen to be Kishoreji/old songs fans.
I found his write up totally offending , and in a bad taste. I would like to advise people like him to have some heart and give honest feedback. I have listened to you, I have given you honest comments and I have seen you taking it in a positive way.
Competition is not demeaning people or putting people down, it’s all about doing better, getting better at what you are doing ….I try doing better , not to prove that I am better than my fellow singers here.
Gautam if you read this I advise you to leave feedback that helps the singer to do better next time, make sure you dont hurt or be rude to people who have posted their songs expecting constructive feedback from fellow artistes….
I second Harshan Sir and Madhukar Sir….And Rahul move on if people put rude comments instead of a constructive feedback you have the freedom to block them… just do that and enjoy life. There are other people to guide you and help you. Keep it up kiddo , I am with you and honest people like you.
Cheers
Rakesh
