Hi Friends,
This is one of those peppy numbers by the great Shankar Ehsaan Loy, done for the movie “Dil Chahta Hai”. Was one of the numbers that topped the charts when it was released, and close to many a heart because we immediately connect with the storyline/characters of the movie.
Now I must admit how blissful an experience it was recording this song with Unni and Sush… It happened so that Unni & Sush were home for a small jamming session. Sushanth was on a recording spree and had recorded 5 songs already. It was then that Unni suddenly jumped up asking why not record this lovely number. I said that this is the first time I am singing a peppy number for muziboo such as this one. Unni echoed my words saying “Njaanum” (meaning me too), followed by Sush who also immediately said “Njaanum”!! :D
After a series of ‘system crashes’ and data losses, we ended up with the dry vocals by 4 am (three hours straight phew :D). Mixing was tough due to three different sounding voices. Glad that this happened. And so, here we go….
