Shobha was one of those rare actresses with beauty, acting talent and brains. But perhaps not with too much luck as she met with a very tragic end! I still remember how beautiful she used to look in this scene with a simple saree, gorgeous wavy hair, no make-up and bubbling with energy! Balumahendra’s heroines have a great charm and Shoba probably topped them all.

Salil Choudhury’s music has left a huge impact on South Indian movies from his masterpieces like Chemmeen, Azhiyaatha KolangaL, Kokila to name a few. Harshanji’s recent post probably rekindled the passion to listen to Salilda’s unforgettable numbers and attempt the Tamil version of the same song. Again, thanks to Shrini for inviting me to sing this awesome duet with him. Unfortunately, the beautiful humming in the first interlude could not be accommodated due to the track being slightly different from the original.

For people who know Tamil: I still am not able to understand what the lyricist Gangai Amaran meant by “ImaikkuL ezhu thaaLam endrendrum kaaNa vendum” :P
