Ninaivo Oru Paravai- with Maruthi Nambi

Ninaivo Oru Paravai- with M... Lyrics & Chords

Though we covered this song a few weeks back, I was constantly troubling Maruthi to revisit the mixing a few times for this song- so that I can post it just in time for his birthday ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARUTHI

Maruthi has been greatly instrumental in rekindling the passion for good music in me. I am so fortunate to have met such a musically talented person as him who is a fantastic human being too! I wish him all the very best for a brilliant career in music which is beginning to take off as he is already working on a couple of plum projects back in Chennai :)

This movie and the songs are so dear to me for so many obvious reasons. This is the second song in the movie I am covering. The humming is an absolute killer and we both enjoyed singing it to the core. Hope you like it too. :)

I had great trouble finding internet connection in the place that I am in right now……hope this one really makes it there in time to wish Maruthi on time :P

Please let us have your valuable comments and suggestions. And thanks for listening :)

thanks for a heart warming birthday present….thanks for all your wishes for my birth day and making it somthing special, luv u all for ur time on our song and well wishes.

I was usually laidback for the mixing (usually dont worry much about it as it consumes my creative time) but adithis ears demanded more from me, hope I have satisfied on the mix.

What a song to pick !? :P

Maruthi- liked your background seconds/humming especially- very well done. Nice vocals through, and best wishes to you on your birthday!

Adithi- the humming is really high, and your struggle was pretty evident :) But your start was just awesome… very husky and totally delectable. Rest of the song- you just breezed through.

Wish the track had been better though, lot of sync/timing issues :(

Adithi, quite a tough assignment-both of you have done exceedingly well-Congrats to you and Maruthy!. Attempting different and difficult compositions helps you to hone in your skills.Keep doing that.
A couple of pointers- 1.strain in the higher notes resulting in off notes. Surprising, since you have a good range.
2.The harmony portion was really good, but sounded a bit stiff-happens when you concentrate only on the notation.
My belated birthday wishes to Maruthy and also wish him great success in his blooming career.

Extremely sorry for the very delayed achnowledgement to all your wonderful comments! I was away on a family fun trip for the weekend and got stuck in a place with no internet. I had to go to a local pub to get netaccess to post this song :P

“No internet” isn’t bad. But “no Muziboo” is torture :D

So glad to see all your wishes to Maruthi too. All your pointers are noted and I promise to work on them all with due diligence so that those errors may be avoided in my future renditions.

Also for those of you who have posted songs in the last four days, I promise to listen to then when I get the slightest chance! :)

Lovely song pick.
Maruthi: Liked your effortless singing and your voice was a perfect fit for this song. Listened to the youtube version as well. Nice observation.
Adithi: Like your passion for music. It is inspiring. It was nice of you to have taken the trouble to post this song on time for a friend’s b’day. Enjoyed your singing (this one has such a beautiful flow and you captured it well) though I must say that I could notice a difference in how your portion of the song sounds (yours sounds slightly rough) compared to Maruthi’s… Not sure why. Different microphones?

Keep singing.

Many Happy Returns Maruthi. Superb song to sing.

adithi and nambi – great singing. some parts were amazing but i know adithi could easily do much better than this. may be coz of the throat problems that your currently facing. also the mixing feels very raw on the vocals, which is making it dry. nambis very beginning humming was great but in the singing portions, could have brought some more charm i guess.

This is an all time song. one of raja’s seductive #s :-)

Thanks a lot for all your comments and pointers. WRT mixing, I am sure Maruthi will take them all to work on.

Singing wise, Rekha, the initial “pa pa pa” had a gradual ascent as opposed to the later one which was sharp and a sudden rise. Maruthi liked the first one so chose not to change it.

Good that I didn’t miss this one! First of all, belated birthday wishes Maruthi! Fabulous singing both of you. Adithi’s voice was a bit sharper to my taste in this.

Raja once saw kamal humming the English number (Maruthi has mentioned above) and was very much impressed by kamals vocals range. Raja immediately asked kamal to come to his studio the next day for a recording and also said he was going to challenge Kamal’s range…. AND……Thats the beginning of kamal’s singing career and the story behinhidn this song…. :)

Hello Adithi … visiting your space after quite a while and generally catching up on Muziboo’s bountiful of renditions!.

Nice song pick. Orchestration in this song is superb (vintage IR!) and this did not come thru in the track. Track was pretty ordinary I must say. Not sure if u recorded using your normal setup as your voice sounded like it lacked dynamics. Overall everything was pretty dry and brittle sounding.

This song is a total emotive sync song and for it to sound good everything has to match well. Somehow for me this does not sound like the best from both of you. You should really try it with a better track and with better mics to bring the closeness of this song to us!. Also pitching and expression can be improved a lot I feel.

Good attempt nevertheless. Best wishes.

Adithi, Very nice singing in this song. S. Janakiyamma’s songs are very difficult to sing and you did a very good job. Maruthi, very good singing and you brought the mood of the song. Well done! Adithi, in the mix, your vocals were a tad louder than Maruthi’s. It may also be absence of EFX on the vocals – but that IMO is not the issue here.

Adithi:

Your open throated renditions is a plus in most of the songs like naadham en jeevane. Unfortunately not in this. As much it is important to sing open-throated for Vanijeyaram songs, it may help you if u are able to learn to transition effortlessly from regular voice to falsetto for songs of S.Janaki. The humming in this song by Janaki is in falsetto and the main song itself is in a very husky (partially false) voice. In fact, it so happens that if one sings open-throated one can neither reach some of the higher notes not can he/she sing them softly. One person who I have witnessed doing this well in muziboo is George Kuruvilla.

MAruthi:

you have lived upto Kamal’s portions. nice job.
