Adithi, you are the “gamakam” queen! It sounded so beautiful. The end ‘da’ was a bit different from the original.
Murali: Nicely done. A little more ‘azhutham’ would have made it sound even better.
Meera: Awesome job as usual.
It was a slow start but progressed so well and was lovely to listen to. Keep them coming!

Adithi & Murali, Excellent work. Have to appreciate the efforts that people like you take to occasionally bring in an air of classical culture. It is a welcome change to listen to pure music in this forum.
The opening adlib portion before rythm starts-notes ri and ga are not steady when listening to both of you. It is small Ri(Shudha rishabh) and big Ga(antara gandharam)for Bowli-in this section both of you were not quite accurate with the two swaras.
The rest of the song was superb. Congratulations to both of you. Wish you would give us more of such songs in future.

Very nice….My paati(grandmom) used to listen to the Shankarabharanam songs every alternate nights, while going to sleep….

Only two small points…
- I think in the starting slow swaram RGPDS,N,D,P, the starting Rishabam almost sounded like Gandhaaram itself…
- aprom, in the end the P in both your voices, I am not sure, but it felt like one of you was slightly off the P…the voices didn’t merge perfectly – but only in that note…

Otherwise, fantabulous job, both of you…I am FAV’ing it – if not for anything else, for bringing back memories of paati to me…

What a mindblowing performance! Loved it all the way!! This is one of my most fav raagam… Loved all the compositions in this raagam!

To be perfectly honest, this is the 1t time I am listening to this song! Loved it absolutely in your voices!

Murali – You have sung splendidly! The Aalap in the centre was simply awesome! Just a small suggestion would be to work a bit on the lower notes, as your voice appears very strained when you sang the low notes in the beginning… This apart, it was simply awesome!

Adithiji – You truly have a wonderful voice! Very well sung… I guess the pointers on the classical bit have been already given to you by people who have better knowledge in classical music than I do… Pls keep coming up with more!

Meera – Special regards to you for the lovely mixing! Work is always incomplete without perfect mixing! You have done a great job! Big thumbs up!

I think, every one of us will have sweet memories about this song……My daughter (when she was around 1.5yrs baby) and me sing this song together at home……I start the swarams she completes (like sarigareegapa……she says da…pa, every line she used to do that)She couldn’t sing gapadapa dapa….she used to say….bodha bodha bodha and laugh :D
Whenever i listen to this song i am reminded of that.
Adithi, u were awesommmmmmmmmme in the akaarams….really amazing ….I would like to be your student to learn the technique of singing so well,,,,Hats off!
Regarding the swarams….i agree fully with Rekha pointed above……I think you could have concentrated on the swaram parts….Murali’s ri,ga and your da had some problems, i felt. Sustaining the Sa pa sa can be improved as well. Murali should also avoid saying riiiiivvvv instead of the clear REEEEE…
Adithi, I understand your reply that you tried to sing same as in the orginal song (the ‘pa’)
Nevertheless….not an easy song to cover….Very good attempt by both of you.
It is easy to comment and give pointers but not that easy when one sings :D

Nice combined effort Adithi and Murali.

Was listening in my home studio speakers and both your voices need more compression and volume I felt, especially Murali’s.

I like the aalaaps in the middle better than the swarams … I thought both of you sung the "aaaa"s well and it was free flowing. With the swaras I found the sur not to be perfect in places from both of you. Having said this it is not easy and entirely understandable. Try monitoring with speakers before releasing the song … I find that this picks up better than headphones and is particularly relevant for songs such as these.

One other thing I want to mention is: In the movie the little girl starts singing from the water and she shivers and sings the first few lines. How come you didn’t bring that feel Adithi?. Overall could have had more emphatic expression in places I felt, especially as this is a Master to young student rendition … that did not come through.
