You have an awesome voice Unnikrishnan ! Mildly pitchy in the pallavi, but gets better as you go.

Nice improvs from the original Unnikrishnan’s version. However, think you missed some key sangathis here and there which actually gave the original the punch it needed. For instance, one is vasappadavillai, sodukkeduppaen ( in eduppaen specifically). That being said, it doesn’t take away the charm from your rendition.

Unni, happy to listen to your song. Excellent work. You have a very expressive voice. However, you may do much better by paying more attention to your pitching and also in modulating your voice as you move from one range to another. In the higher notes where some strain was detected, give a bit of nasal tone and feel the difference.

Nice listening Unni. I couldn’t find any flaws, as you have your own style of singing. This is a classic song from ARR, which I grew up listening and hence any minor difference in rendition would quickly sound an alert in the mind.

However, such surprises in your rendition were more like a ‘yay’ than a ‘nay’. Keep up the good work.

Simply flamboyant!!! I swayed my head when I heard u sing “Thedi Vandhen” and “Pirungi Nindren” in the pallavi and also at the end!!!!! I should admit, it was much much much more beautiful than the original!! :)

The ending of the anupallavi and the charanam were simply mindblowing!! KUDOS to you on singing this song in such an exemplary manner!!

HAD I A CHANCE TO FAVORITE THIS SONG A 100 TIMES, I WOULD HAVE DON IT ALL 100 TIMES!!

For now 5/5 and goes straight to my favs!! :)

No wonder you sang this song with terrific ease. This is Unnikrishnan’s first song to the filmdom and it fetched him the National Award. Infact he also got for the song “Uyirum Neeyae”, again composed by Rahman. Your voice is fantastic and since you can bring those nuances, it is even more glowing. There are only a very few areas where your pronounciation of words where little different than the original. Otherwise, a rock solid song. 5 on 5 from me :)

1)Excellent feel and voice.
2)Great improvisations. Some of them really sound better than original.
3)Recording quality is good…

Negatives

1) Pitching issues…e.g 1.04 – Undhan is slighly out of pitch.2.38 – There is again slight piching issues.
2) Need to take care of lyrics in many places. few e.g 2.27- Kangalelam enai is correct…2.42 – vazhvathum thirai kondu is correct i guess.

Your voice flows unimpeded which is a great gift. There are quite a few errors in the words and to elaborate them is going to take some time here. So omitting that.

and the ending vaarthaiyil uLLadh"adi" – I would have rewound and heard it atelast 3-4 times. It is just awesome.

But there are some extremely minor pitching issues too e.g:

1:03 – undhan
And second charaNam is a little less surely rendered than the first.

But these do not stop this song from entering my favorites.

Great Voice u have….I like this song, have always heard the Sun Ri Sakhi version in Hindi but need to tell u that the Tamil version sounds better witht he flow of the words….There were some parts u rendered very beautifully and some places u were a bit unsure, like in the 2nd verse……But overall, this song has come out well. Kudos to the mixing skills by Nitin. I liked how he made ur vocals blend so blissfully into the track…….Amazing work Team……

Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence.

Love has got all the essential ingredients in life. To be precise, it bestows u with them if u r love-struck. Though I have not had such a wonderful feel in life, I could somehow make myself understand through the poems of the legendary tamil poet Kannadasan. It often keeps us guessing. We would feel lonely but actually we are not with ppl mobbing around. We would stay solitary but we could sense the presence of our beloved ones near-by. Sanity & Insanity equally influence a man who is love-struck. :-)

Lovely singing indeed. But mind you, this is a song which a lover sings to his lady love. Its quite obvious that a lover would sing with a silken touch almost equaling a fondle with a plume to express his love, care and other equations to his gal. I felt the notes and the sangathis were almost the same as original not minding some few off-notes. My personal intuition says that this song rendered after having watched the video of this song would have got additional colours than what it holds now. I expect a lot from u, pal and so do others here around. This song has to be delivered with immense love and I hope u would take this suggestion and do deliver the next as ur magnum opus Wishing to write more on this but would continue in ur next upload. My fingers crossed :-)

Beautiful Unni… lovely performance… very gud feel throughout… enjoyed a lot of ur variations. felt vidai kondu povadum dint reach the higher note…. and a few integral sangathis of the song i was looking for were missing… but overall an excellent performance…………… i enjoyed it thoroughly…
