Not many would know about ARR’s Anthimanthaarai (1996) as the film went unnoticed, though the film won a National Award.

This song is really special and has a beautiful lyrics too and you have sung it so well. I want you to sing many such songs…

Another winner. Good one sudhathee. One of the standard confusing lingo that VM adopts. It is rustic in pallavi (moonji etc) and comes to normal tamil (koLLidam vandhu ondraaga chErum). And I would not blame ARR for ripping paalvadiyum mugam off for a rustic tune. He probably did not know what VM was going to write.

I liked your presentation of “Oru Naal” – it sounded like a mix of carnatic and folk styles and the lyrics sounded both rustic and refined. Your singing was very lively.

I am commenting only on your singing, i never heard this before (I usually keep track of Rahman’s every album regardless of the language).

Your voice is very refreshing, i can relate to the feelings of this song through your involved rendition, wonderful effort there. Keep doing such numbers where there is very minimal backing music, that brings out the beauty of your voice.
