Today’s Hip Hop seems overrated and rarely relatable. Many of today’s artists have the mind set that they have to make songs for ringtone companies which in turn takes them out of their true element and style that makes them who they are.

While remaining business minded, Sour E brings hip hop music into the mainstream for the enjoyment of all ages through the art of vivid story telling. Sour E also offers a wide range of talent with his group of close talented friends known as “Rise Represantaz.”Vocally and lyrically, Sour E and the Rise Reps are exactly what the hip hop world is terribly missing.

Sour E, was born Darius Moses in Brooklyn, NY in 1984. Raised in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn by his grandmother Clara. Sour E is the oldest of nine siblings, having one older sister.

While being raised in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn by his grandmother, Clara, Sour E was introduced to hip hop by his older cousin, Patrick Ray, at the age of ten. He had Sour E listen to the likes of Bone Thugs N Harmony and The Notorious BIG. Within months, Sour E started writing his own rhymes and was even performing for classmates at his school.

Before giving his attention solely to music, Sour E also played varsity basketball for Benjamin Banneker High School in Brooklyn. This progressed to joining Jamestown Community College in Upstate New York where he played twelve games of Ju-Co ball before academic problems cost him his spot on the team.

Sour E began focusing on his music.

In 2004, Sour E returned to Brooklyn not knowing what was next for him. Through partying and hanging out with the wrong people, he began to clash with the law. Dedicated to his art though, he began working on tracks and better familiarizing himself with the elements of creating great music.

Sour E is a story teller that puts the listener in his shoes and simply has fun doing what he does. Sour E sounds like T.I., Jay-Z and Kanye West mixed in a lyrical pot. He’s an artist that isn’t afraid to express his feelings & opinions on a track. He truly does stand out from up & coming artists with his friends, “The Rise” making sure of that.

The future is here and his name is Sour E.
