Wow, Vani Jayaram’s Evergreen Song. You have done a great justice with your singing.

However, on mixing/recording front it needs attention. What you are covering your Mic to stop the noise. I felt there are reflections coming from surrounding material of the mic affecting your tonal quality. OR you need to watch your equalizer. Neverthless, singing wise great !!

But can I please suggest something – I might not be fully qualified to do this, but my feelings about this. It appears you are not coming out fully and freely. There is a sense of pressure in the voice – could be because of the pitch. Also falling short of the actual note sometimes.

Now, this is a more than pleasant surprise! Such a rendition, such a voice and such a song, can only come up perfect. I am too happy I didn’t have to go through 100.000 “nice”, “lovely” and/or “enjoyable” comments to reach the edit field, I am certainly glad this particular upload does not look like compromising on quality ffor the sake of audiance and/or lobby. Its a beautiful one the way it is and I do love it fully! No, it couldn’t be better as this is perfect the way it is. And You do not need to be close to the original, at least, not too closed, as we all are programmed to be unique and original our way. Please, do keep singing, and put Your 100% into it, the way U did with this song. I don’t know U and U do not know me either, but, what’s beautifully done, even God loves.

Hi Sowmya,

Very difficult song to sing and you did enough justice. Just felt at places, singing could be a bit tighter wrt to improvisations:) Modulations in are something you need to watch out for in classical songs like this but overall you did very well. Just some fine tuning needed, thats it.

Wonderful singing, Sowmya. First off, hats off on singing at this pitch – not so easy. Loved your mukhada immensely. As constructive f/b, would have liked a couple of harkats to be a bit deeper with gamakas in the antaras, but still liked your improvs.
You sure brought in some snow for us New Englanders with raag Miyan ki Malhaar! ;-)

Thanks for covering this VaNi’s classic… This is a stunner from you minding the high pitch of this song… Really liked you take on this number… I personally felt giving extra stress to the gamakkams would affect the flow and spoil the show… I would rather say, you carried the flow very well without overdoing things… Sorry to have missed this out… Glad that I got landed here… Now being a tamilian, you can cover some tamil songs too… Will this request get heeded?? :)
