We are bestowed with a package of incognito gestures that are sure to happen. As a simple expectational thought attributed to human, we do expect only the joyous part to please us and we try to evade from the reality. And that retrospecting our past and expressing it through soulful singing and dedicating it to someone who had misunderstood the craving soul here for using her God-gifted talent is something I have not seen in life. Hope Abdul Sihabdeen reads this and gets back to normalcy and that the communication-gap gets vanished. Happy Birthday Abdul!!!!

I have been crying to myself on seeing many things happening around and involving me. From your acknowledgement to Visali amma, I would like to write loads and loads. I dont mind if I get rebuked or criticised with a bad note for doing this. Many of us crave for many things in life – may it be temporal or eternal. But one thing is axiomatic that we would get what we deserve. It may be any point in life. Have listened to this song last night soon after it got posted here. since then I have been crying. Many of my friends here are well aware of that. Such a soulful singing. Am spell-bound. I could see a lot of message in this rendition. Think there are few left out which are concealed with you still. Usually I write more than I speak but now I don’t know how to express it here. I am stammering a lot. God bless you. Am so lucky to have got a friend like you. (Touched wood) I pray God that u shouldn’t even see someone struggling in life. If it is the rule of the Lord that there is something in the stock for you to face(testing times), I sincerely wish him to let me bear that as a friend. Smiling days are ahead.

Your words about ur past and ur experiences have invoked something in me and of course would have the same effect in many hearts. They would acknowledge if they are honest I took this chance as lame to cry out my frustrations and deliquesced with my tears. I really don’t know why am so awe-struck with this particular song. My sub-conscious registry have got something of this same sort in stack I feel. Nothing more to pen down. Your singing has to reach MOTHER SHAKTHI. I am not sure if I have messed up what I tried to say. But am completely emotional and drops from my soul are rolling down my cheeks. Thanks for covering this and sharing it with us.

Hope Abdul gets the message and reconciles with his innocent sister. Brothers can pardon their sisters. Can’t they??? My appeal is that.

According to me, the honesty of the soul lays here as the scale/pitch(whatever u call) and its genuine outcry oozes in as the notes. Dont wish to compare this heart-felt singing with standardized metrics. You have won comprehensively and pompously as it has kindled something in many hearts(quite evident from the comments here) and this is your magnum opus till date. Wishing you to get the best and that ur tear glands get suspended from working forever.

Excellent singing, my dear! Expressionwise, you have improved a lot as is evident from this cover.

I have only listened to the older version (Maatha unkoyilil) but I am sure Sadhana would have done justice to this lovely tune! :)

Some pitching issues as in nadhiyaanade, roattoramaai, kanneerile……but your sangathis were awesome, especially “yean sol”, “kaakkave”. I felt that you could have reduced the pitch a tad- would have helped you reach out those higher notes with ease!

First time i heard u is in varaayo vaaraayo song and instantly became ya fan….Then u showed ya different colour in durr song with vichoo….I thought u were awesome in karikalan with those sugary candy expressions which were very naughty too….and now….omg….wat a way to sing such a powerful song….I am moved after hearing you sing rosh….I simply ignored pitching,sangathis,notes,blah blah and blah….You simply connected direct to my heart….and i believe thats the best and the most difficult challenge any singer will always have….Enakku enna sollrathu nnu theriyalai….Avalavu feel create panneettenga enakkulla….Hats off….You are truly versatile….claps

in this perticular song u sounded with full of jeevan…u have given life to this song according to me…

sadhana’s singing has its own professional touch…she didnt give the feel what u have given with meaning fulwords…because she cannot feel the song…

i remember my school days i went to one ‘thol pommai drama…’ (i dont think how many of you aware about this type of art.)

the after drama they will play record dance it is very famous… all the village bigshots (oldys) visit this drama to just enjoy the record dance…

actually they play film songs and dance…

once a pregnant lady given a performace for “thai thandha pichayile pirandhenamma”

seriously she made me cry at that age…
even now…when ever i listen that song i remember the pregnant lady…

the reason why i am mentioning this here is, only art has the capabilty to give impact on our soul…and change our lives…

people say the symphony music can induce aperson to commit suicide….

and our own karnatic music ragaas care cure a person from sickness…

history says tansen made light by singing a raaga which is related to fire…

yes music has its own sooperpowers which is rarely realised by us…

this perticular song made people litrally cry…

u have a great power in your voice roshini…

you no need to take care of any flaws…let it be as it is…

art is sometimes only the feel…just feel it…when you add mathematics…its become engineering…

we have many music engineers here in muziboo…but not a single singer who feel the song and sing which creats vibrations around the world…

but your song made us feeling it…

Really sorry to use your space yet again. Wanted to say one more thing.(don’t know how many ‘one more things’ would come). I could understand what Suku was telling. I personally like Director Bala who dares to tell whatever he likes to, without any compromise. This movie ‘Naan Kadavul’ though didn’t perform well at the box-office is still a stupendous effort etched on film rolls throwing light on the other part of life. And this song can be connected to any soul which craves for real, unadulterated and bilateral love. As a result that forsaken soul would have so many questions for God(here SHAKTHI) This song has been picturised so in the movie and the visually-challenged girl cries demanding answers for her forsaken life. This rendition has literally raised so many questions and when I think over I get palpitations. Oru vitha aathangam; aatramai ellaamumnu sollalaam. I dont know if u had these things in mind while rendering this song. But it gave us message.Though it got posted here as a dedication for someone and a rendition for theoretical analysis in the form of comments, I feel it has out-smarted every parameter fixed. What would we do if we dont have a machine to apply the theories and see the mechanism? I didn’t come here with a pre-conceived mind about your adherence to scale/notes and so I was blessed to enjoy the divinity here. Of all the other forms of art, only music can pamper and heal the soul with its divine deliverence. You have delivered it so perfectly. I had so many turbulations in mind tearing me into pieces but now I seem to be okay. Puyalukku pin izhayum amaithi Intha unarvupoorvamaana paadalukku endrendrum en aasigalum nandrigalum. Hi Roshine, You picked a moving number by the great IR and kudos to that. A cry about the plight of women which still rings true in the 21st century around the world. The lyrics are (if I am not mistaken) emoted by the use of the vagula baranam scale which is a majestic ragam used for proclamations ranging from war conflict to the kind of pathos proclamation that this song exudes.

You have a good voice that is mellow and does not shrill out across the entire range. May be a tad lower pitch may have brought more depth to your singing, otherwise it was a good overall rendition. However you have diction issues especially the ‘zhi’ sound in tamil.

I want to be grabbed in the first pallavi itself of this song no matter who sings it. Unfortunately this did not happen purely bcos of one reason. You used frivolous briga endings which were not appropriate for the lyrics at hand. The genuine feel was lost, for what is a very serious song with powerful lyrics. I am merely giving you what I felt as a listener who wanted to be emoted by your singing.

Try to give relaxed modulations; I think your singing overall was a bit high strung. String it out a bit more and don’t worry about those brigas. The message should get across to a listener even if they have not heard the original!.

I have to commend you on the effort taken and that alone was awesome, especially as you are not familiar with the tamil language. For this alone it was an awesome rendition and hats off for that. Cheers.

Roshine , havent heard this song before, but i too thought you did a wonderful job – lovely voice and feel. Caught a couple of spots where i felt you could do a little better on the pitching – but didnt think it was anything major and didnt take away much from this soulful rendition. Liked it.
