Sanskrit song on goddess Shaaradha
Sanskrit song on goddess Sh... Lyrics & Chords
This is a small Sanskrit song on the goddess of learning Shaaradha. Its set to Mohanam raagam, and no specific taalam. I learned this way back in school, from my younger sister. Her then music teacher had taught her this. So, till date I have no clue on who wrote this song, or who gave it the tune that is. The lyrics as I’ve known is like this -
Hamsa vaahini Shaaradhe
Veena vinodhini Shaaradhe
Bhaava raaga vinodhini
Laya taala bodhini Shaaradhe
Veda vaahini shubha pradhayini
Vidhya dhaayini Shaaradhe
Jayati jayati sarva swaroopini
jayati jayati moksha pradhayini
jayati jayati vighna vinashini
jayati jayati maam.
After a very very long time, I fiddled around with Carnatic music once again, and decided to record something sweet and small, and remembered this. Just sang it with shruti. Please excuse some weakness in the lower registers.
Hope you all enjoy it… :)

Very nice, Rekha! :) Mohanam thaane ithu! I wonder why so many Saraswathi songs are composed in Mohanam (vara veena, maanikka veenai yaenthum and few more kutti songs that I know)
Glad to see that you have started practising :) You have such a powerful bass voice . Nerayya paadi post pannu :)

I am singing a typical carnatic piece after years maybe…even though its like a beginner’s shlokam song, felt happy doing it…
Adithi, yes it is Mohanam, and maybe its Saraswati’s favorite ragam…:)) yes ma, hoping to practice more and more and post more… :)

Rekha very well done. Yr voice and tone is perfect with brilliant diction.
Only thing would suggest u choose a range higher than this, u will sound more beautiful ‘cause listening to yr other songs i don’t think it would be difficult for U. Sometime pls attempt ‘Vara veena’ too.
Loved it dear and thanks for singing:)
