Beet Gaye Din Bhajn Bina Re-Kabir Bani
Beet Gaye Din Bhajn Bina Re... Lyrics & Chords
Kabir would be one of the people I would love to meet if I ever get a chance to go back in history. He was a “Nirgun Panthi” and 600 years ago wrote about the ills of the society and preached about simplicity. The original bhajan was sung by Jagjit Singh and I have created this track as none was available. This has been set in Raag Bhairav, a Raag used often for devotional songs.
Beet gaye din bhajan bina re
Baal awastha khel gavayi
Jab joban tab maan ghana re
Lahe karan mool gavayo
ajahoon na gayi man ki trishna re
Kahat Kabir suno bhai sadho
paar utar gaye sant jana re
Alas my life is passed away without your meditation O Lord!
I spent my child hood playing, in my youth my pride overtook me.
I have lost most of my life (principal amount) in useless pursuits and the desires of my mind and senses are still not quenched.
Kabir says listen o Sadho (seeker), the saints dwelling on His name have crossed this ceaseless ocean of the world.

Very nice rhythm and tune and quite a soulful rendition by you Rajeev.
Seems to be a very difficult song which needs a lot of care at the intensity and levels of pitch and you have done an excellent job in executing it perfectly.
As usual excellent mixing and your voice throw is great…
Kind regards,
Giri
(Glad to be the first to comment. Why don’t you give the meaning in English too?)

Dear Rajeev me too hearing it for the first time. This Bhajan has all the ingredients and you have sung with all sincerity and grace. What I appreciate more than anything else is preparing this track without which such purity and soul in rendition would have been difficult. Please do elaborate more on how this track was prepared? Bhajans always fascinate me, I have heard Kabir in Anoop Jalota’s voice also. I do not understand every word but the phrases in their entirety do gives me a sense. Very lovely Bhajan and very nicely presented.

Rajeev bhai,
This is definitely a new milestone. Creating the track from scratch and and that too so well. Your voice on top is icing on the cake. SOme of the chorus effects that you presented are simply too good.
Very soulful, pure and pious presentation. The recording and technicals in the song were perfect as well. Easily goes to my favorites.

Thank you all for the encouraging words!
@ Latha, Kabir’s words are still relevant today. Thank you for your time!
@ tahy Bhai, I have added the english translation. I am always glad to see you in forum and you indeed are one of the first ones. Unfortunately I do not have time to visit Muziboo as often and though you are prolific I make sure I listen to you, as I do enjoy your singing!
@ Sheba and Chandrakant Ji- Thanks!
@ Adwait, I am glad you liked my attempt. Kabir indeed has been performed by many artists and genres from Bhajan to Sufi to Quawwali. Thanks for visitng!
@ Naqvi Sahab, thanks for your kind words. It is always a pleasure to read your comments. I used an exisitng JJ track and used loops plus added minor sound enhancements and original interludes to create a track. Sorry, not from scratch!
@ Harshan Ji, thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your visitng!
@ Rajiv Bhai, sounds like you heard the whole bhajan toill the end! lol! Thanks as always for your encouraging comments.
@ Adina and Hema Ji, I appreciate you sparing time for my attempt and your appreciation!

Lovely Kabir bhajan and very soulful rendition, Rajeev. I love Kabir Dohe a lot. Find strong Shivranjani touch in the Jagjitji version (Komal Ga on Gaye) in the main tune and interludes. There is also a Pt. Bhimsenji version which is classic Bhairav. Kudos on creating a track from scratch – and Thanks for sharing these wonderful gems with us.
Loved it,

Hi Rajeev, This is one of my favorite bhajans. and you have sung it beautifully. I am an amateur singer too. I want to know how you deleted the voice track of Jagjeet and added yours. Is the original Bhajan made with MIDI? How did you get the MIDI score? Please help. This Bhajan has also been recorded by Jagjeet in Raag Bhairvi too.

Prem, thank you for appreciating my effort. I did not delete JS’s voice from the track just cut the portions with singing and added a loop which I put together with a lot of cutting and pasting. It was tedious but rewarding! I hav not heard JS’s version of this bhajan in Bharavi! Need to look it up!

Hi Rajeev,
here is the same Bhajan in Raag Bhairvi

Bye the way, the Bhajan you sang is based in Raag Marwa. (note the heavy emphasis on Komal Re, typical for Marwa.) But being a Bhajan , Jagjit has take some liberty in adding a “shudh Ma” here and there for more melody. I really love your column. keep it up. Prem
