This song is on par with any other songs in this same album. I love “PoojaikkAga vAzhum” sung by Deepan Chakravarthy in this same album, which got him the Tamil Nadu State Award.
This is one of the best albums of Ilayaraja. When the legends Bharathiraja, Ilayaraja and Kavi Perarasu join hands, one can only expect a treat to the audience. In spite of a good storyline, good direction, excellent lyrics and music this movie failed to impress in the box office because of the stupid sentiment that movies with lead characters as visually impaired would never do well :)) You name any song in this album and I’m sure many of the Muzibooyans would have listened to it at least a few thousand times.
This song reminds me of Raaga Deepam yEtrum song in PayaNangalL mudivadhillai.

@Gopi – Thanks and yes starting was in a very low scale. The track does not match the original. The original goes like “amma azhage” twice and it was odd for me to sing “en sangeetham” without singing amma azhage the 2nd time :)) The problem with people like us is that we are so used to listening and singing along with the original (from those days when the movie was released), its hard to accept any goofups in the tracks.

Super song raja… Romba nalla arputhama paadiyirukeenga. Sila idangalil mattum aangaange kurai thenpattathu. Starting la “un sangeetham en jeevane” slight off-notes. Idha at places you either hurried or waited in the 2nd charanam. Indha padathin ella paadalgalume manathil pasumarathu aani pola pathinthu vittathu…so even slight varations become easily visible. Enjoyed your singing though. My wish from this movie would “Poojaikkaaga …vaazhum poovai” song…why don’t you try this next.
