When it comes to heroism and philosophical songs, the hero that comes to my mind is Puratchi Thalaivar MGR. Who else behind the scene can give life to those philosophical songs other than the one and only TMS? This song is the title song of Mannathi Mannan, which is a super hit movie. Kaviyarasar Kannadasan has penned the lyrics for this evergreen song with music by Viswanathan Ramamurthy. Although I love the entire lyrics, I would like to highlight “vAzhndhavar kOdi maRaindhavar kOdi makkaLin manathil niRpavar yAr? mAperum veerar mAnam kAppOr sarithiram thanilE niRkindRAr”. What a meaningful lyrics and MGR lived up to this lyrics and even now his old movies when re-released are running successfully in theaters.

When I read the news that TMS was hopitalized for memory loss and neurological disorder couple of days ago, I was very sad. The news today is very positive that his condition is stable. When I watch MGR or Sivaji songs in TV, I only think about this legendary singer. It is not an easy song to sing and I gave my best efforts. I enjoyed singing this popular and motivational song. I hope you enjoy listening to this rendition. This track ended abruptly and hence I could not sing the last 2 lines of the pallavi “Acham enbathu”.
