This is the official debut song of SPB (in Tamil) although in several interviews he has mentioned that there are a couple of other songs that he recorded before this song, but those ones got released later. KV Mahadevan’s simple tunes are evergreen and with SPB and P Suseela giving their beautiful voices for this good lyrics is a treat to listen any time. This song is composed in Dharmavathi ragam. I was surprised to find out that a few of my all time favorite songs like Ilancholai poothathaa, konji konji, ottagathai kattikko are composed in this raagam. MGR and Jayalalitha pair is so popular and their expressions in this song are very good. Adimai Pen is a blockbuster with super hit songs besides this song.

Neatly rendered….loved it…a song with a treasure trove of sangathis. Romba sweeta paadiniga….nanba.felt there were few improv’s.

Hearing you after a long time. Neat work— some sangathis were very smooth and well done! Some I thought could be better ( thaniyirukkae, bhaavamenna, paaraayo for instance).
Not at all an easy song to sing, so kudos to you for picking it!

Aaha….great job with this song. Would have been good if you had collaborated with a muziboo singer for the female parts. Nevertheless it was a good rendition for such a tough song.

Raja Mani….Super song selection and the track is absolutely fantastic….As usual, singing and expressions are spot on, carefully presented. I think “Iyarkai Ennum…Ilayakanni” was recorded first…but this got released before. Soft voice paadiyirukkalam…without the depth…(young SPB voice). The second charanam….your voice rushed a little bit (Mannavanin Tholirandai…., Inba mayakkam lines)… Ennada, kurai solraanennu nenakka venam…I do care more about your singing….athaan….
