Very expressive singing Rashmi! The very last “kannalanae” could have been done better. I felt you were rushing up a bit. May the tempo of the karaoke track was a little higher than the original.

outstanding effort Rashmi,great taste and rendition……very intricately delivered….in the first pallavi @2:28 the nenjam second time needs more ’near’feel…with exceedingly well done modulations from Chitra……if intentionlly done the way it is,fine….does not deter though….in the same line ThaLumbudhu sounds a tad bit like Thalumbudhu.On the mixing side-the voice needs to be sharper I feel……that enhances the feel of the song in my view…….Thats being very picky :)

Saying all this because some of your recent renditions your voice sounded crystal clear and bright….and a bit soft here…….

All the technicalities aside-singing wise- i think you have hit a purple patch….enjoyed it

Beautiful rendition. First of all appreciate for selecting such a diff song.
would like to share with you the story of ‘Kannalane’ word.

Vairamuthu had written the song to the tune of ARR. Chitra had also arrived. But, there was a small obstacle in one word. The tune went like this

" Thanthanaa na Tharathara thara Thaana na naa"…

The problem was the lyrics to be fitted in Thanthaana na …

“Enadhu Kannai Netrodu Kaanavillai” was the firstlyrics which have been written off.

Then the following words were thought of….instead of kannaalane…

" En Nadhane; or En Jeevane; or Anbalane; or En Devane;" The music team tried filling it in different combination of words. But no lyrics came close to the heart. After prolonged thinking, the word " Kannalane" arrived at the end of the brainstorming session.

How much time and effort lies in composing music and it’s really surprising to know that how much time was spend to find a starting fitting word for such a diff song.

Concur with Akshay.
If it had been the original recording conditions, I am sure that you would have emulated chitra 100%.

I think you are too modest in saying that you would happy if you are able to achieve 10% of chitra’s.
I think the gap between your singing and chitra in these songs is only 10%.

You should try to get into playback singing.
Have the right voice for that.

Translation-It was like eating a Hot hot dosa with garlic pickle and ghee. Just melts in your mouth.

Your voice is also like that. I just did not feel like looking for errors. I was mesmerised. I dont know tamil much but still I will listen again and pay a little more attention to detail.

But I might say you made my day. I was about to hit the sack and am happy that I heard this song before that.
