Saya Tidak Bersalah (I'm Not Guilty)
Saya Tidak Bersalah (I'm No... Lyrics & Chords
This beautiful song tells the story of Schapelle Corby, an innocent suffering extreme cruelty in the hell of an Indonesian prison cell.
Schapelle was subjected to the most harrowing of show trials, in which evidence and justice were simply diversions to be dismissed as quickly as possible. She was sentenced to a barbaric 20 years for importation of marijuana, a crime which she could not have committed. She is still there now: suffering.
Tara Hack recorded this outstanding song at the end 2008, in New York. It is a remarkable track, from a hugely talented emerging artist. A beautiful song and a beautiful voice, from clearly a beautiful person.
Hopefully it will help spread awareness of Schapelle’s plight to a wider audience. Please remember that Schapelle’s cries for justice are ignored, her tears are not seen, and her voice is not heard: but YOU can become her voice. Please pass on her story, this song, and our Schapelle videos to friends, to colleagues, to anyone who will listen.

Information on Schapelle Corby, the subject of this song:
Schapelle Corby is unlawfully imprisoned in a cell in Indonesia, having been sentenced to a barbaric 20 YEARS for a crime she did not commit.
She suffered the most harrowing of show trials, in which evidence was simply a diversion, to be ignored and disposed of as quickly as possible.
She was charged with importation of Marijuana from Australia, yet despite her pleas, the show court refused to test the drugs for country of origin (if they were Indonosian they would have had to release her), and refused to fingerprint the bag: they then burned the evidence to prevent it being used to free her.
The ‘judge’, who had never acquitted anyone in 500 drug cases, also refused to view CCTV footage from the airport, and systematically waived Schapelle’s human and legal rights almost on a daily basis.
And this is just the tip of the iceburg, as Indonesia needed a high profile drugs case for massive international ‘war on drugs’ funding. For the Australian government, their strategic relationship with Indoensia trumped Schapelle Corby’s human rights.
She didn’t have a chance, she didn’t have a trial, and now she doesn’t have a life.
