Le Ke Pehla Pehla Pyar - Instrumental
Le Ke Pehla Pehla Pyar - In... Lyrics & Chords
What a lovely song this was that was covered by Shamshad Begum, Aasha Bhosle and Rafi for Film C.I.D 1956. Majrooh Sahab had written the lyrics and O.P.Nayyar its composer. Hope you all enjoy my Home Studio Instrumental whose original is also in A-Flat minor.
Now something for friends whom I find taking interest in their own music creation and know how to play some keyboards also. This instrumental is a combination of Wave and Midi for arrangement purposes. The final outcome is still a wave file. Tabla/Dholuk sounds are from sampled loops, Chimta is a one shot sample from Swar Plug-in, Harmonium sound is coming through Peti Beta (VSTi Plug-in) and Flute sounds from my Roland Fantom-S. Both Harmonium and Flutes were played as one would play for a live situation but instead of recording Wave, MIDI is recorded. Remember Midi is not audio, its only instructions sent to either your external Midi Keyboard or your Plug-ins pre-installed on your PC to play the sounds as and when you want. That is why Midi is preferred over direct wave recording of instruments.

I unfortunately don’t understand much about the MIDIs, samples, and plug-ins you have detailed in this one as well as your previous work. I do love the harmonium and keyboard though, and do play them at a novice level….
Fantastic upload as always, Naqvi guru ji!

Awesome…… ! Wonderful song you have selected and what a performance ! Hats off to you ! The effects of table, Dholuk and the chimta are blended so well and they so much compliment to your song playing. Zabardust !!!!!
Now @ the other things you have mentioned here…. I really need to learn from basics to understand in deep because I haven’t tried any additional plug ins yet. I do my recording and editing in Sony Sound Forge and have not yet tried any other software as well. Well I’ll be saving your write up with me so that I can check certain things before or while recording.
Previously I used to use ‘Orchestrator’ software wherein I used to work on 16 tracks so I could play the small keyboard I had (MUSICSTAR…. which plays through software only). I used to play different fillers on different tracks in midi format and then finally save the whole mixed file as wav. Now I’ll try whatever you have mentioned here. By the way…. where do we get the plugins? Thanks a lot for everything Sir and Once again Hats off to you.

Marvelous work, Naqviji! It sounds so original like…. The only difference is that the sound is of contemporary high quality. Your skill with the Keyboard is mind blowing.
Million thanks for this direct demonstration of use of MIDI, Wave and loops in one creation. Now questions:)
1) First you played it on the keyboard and recorded it as MIDI data on PC. For Peti and Bansuri, did you choose related instrument from a plug in to transform the MIDI data in to the sound wave? What is the plug-in or software you have used?
2) What software have you used to bring all these sound tracks together?
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge for the benefit of learners like me.
Gurudatt sahab was a great film maker. Some times he made two films simultaneously. One very sensitive and silent (like pyasaa, kagaz ke phool)the other commercial (like aarpaar and CID)The formula to manage his finances worked those days and we got his great films. The music was always special in both the type of movies. Today by uploading one of such great number aapne really dil ke taar chhed diye. At the same time its a great tribute to Dev sahab. Dear Bhai Chandrakant I use Cakewalk Sonar as a sequencer. You can find lots of plug-ins for effects and instruments that you can use within your sequencer software. All software have almost similar features but your final outcome is based solely on the quality of audio interface or sound card. The 16 track limitation comes from the fact that keyboards have 16 channels for Midi but it is only virtual, you can have as many Midi tracks as you need. Thanks for listening and enjoying this instrumental.

Dear Adwait my whole idea to upload this instrumental was YOU. I am so happy you enjoyed it and have shown keen interest. I am sure you will soon pick up all this….its not a Rocket Science….Lol.
1. Yes I played the keyboard using a regular string sound and recorded Harmonium and Flute Tracks in Midi notes. After editing for note placement, duration and velocity it has to be converted into wave.
a. Play the file from PC, direct the signal to the keyboard and record the audio output back into an audio track on PC sequencer. (Flutes in my case)
b. For VSTi most software allow you a Freeze option, meaning each note on sequencer gets internally converted into wave but via your VSTi (VSTi = VST instrument)onto a new audi track which is usually just one below your Midi track for that instrument.
2. I use Cakewalk Sonar 8.5 but a newer version X1 has also surfaced which I will see if I can install, for now I have everything that I need in 8.5.
Keep in touch….Regards

Naqvi saab….wah subanallah……just loved the overall sound….with traditional instruments. As I said in the past, seriously think of coming out with instrumental pieces of gems like this….which people are just craving to have. This piece can be played anywhere where there is a wedding and I am sure even teenagers will just sway to this one…without doubt. You are indeed a wealth of information and also very helpful…I will ping you offline and get some more insights about the loops and other stuff. I have some creativity but I fall short because I cant create track as I am no expert with any musical instruments……….favs of favs ….awesome !!!

Kya baat hai, Naqvi saheb. Really like these arrangements you treat us with. Very very informative for us – You truly are a complete musician. Very crisp sounds – loved the dholak, harmonium, chimta and you have created a beautiful and balanced output. Now, I will only request you to give us a Tutorial (if you manage time) to teach us these things visually. Personally, I have the same issue like Harshan, and feel like unplugged singing dampens the effect one can get with taals.

SUPER BLASTING, This is indeed a blowing performance sir. A good demo of a great lesson. If I were in Canada I would wish to learn harmonium from you.
One Question on your recording process. Why do you have to route Midi through keyboard and re-record with another instrument, is it because of track limitation? I never used Sonar, that’s why I am asking this because pro tools or logic provide more than sufficient tracks without having to convert midi to wave and then re-play.
Swar Plug is on my wish list, but not but not buying because I am still devoting time on learning the things in plate.

Dear Harry Jassal very happy to learn you enjoyed this instrumental. Bhai I can play keyboards to some degree of perfection but not very perfect. Just get a Harmonium and start practicing….I learnt it myself so can you. As for your question no I do not have any track limitation its just when I have to bounce notes with one of the sounds in my synthesizer I have to route it from PC into Synth, play the sequencer and record the wave output back into sequencer in real time. However VSTi Plug-ins do not require this action, notes sent to plug-ins can be frozen and bounced quickly. This is achieved so because each notes sampled sound is contained within the plug-in, where as Synth has to produce a sound based on what note it receives. Keep in touch.

Using all these Plug-Ins/Loops is one thing, and getting these tuned to such perfection is a superb thing and i believe is your asset (Hats-Off!) and is not a simple Job. Dear Shailender thank you for your appreciation and enjoying this instrumental. The only virtual instruments that I did not play were Tabla, Dholak and Chimta. They were sampled sounds. Harmonium and Flutes were played by me but the sounds came out from Peti Plug-in and Roland Synth (that I have) respectively. Tabla and Dholak however have to be tuned (also through software)so as to blend well with the root chord of the song. I will keep writing how and what I did with my future uploads as this aspect is very interesting for many folks. I am glad you are one of them. Keep in touch.
