If Someone Composed His Copositions And Others Sing Them By There Names What Should Be Done? Like I Have Composed “khoi Ankhain” And Also I Have Written The Lyrics But Some Person Named Zeeshan Khakwani Uploaded That Song In His Voice And Getting The Credit Though I Have Made The Video That Song And Which Is On Air These Days On AGG TV, PTV, ATV…. So How We Can Stop That Thing…. If This Group Says I Can Send My Video To Them As A Proof…. So How Can We Stop That And Can Give Credit To The Original Person… Kindly Notice That… Thanks…

Hi,
I have faced this problem before. The best way to protect your music is to personally copyright it. The way you can go about doing so is to snail mail yourself the original lyrics and the sheet music if possible. DO NOT open the envelope once it returns back to you. Se, it has all the dates of when it was mailed out and when it was received, which makes it a legal document that you can use when faced with a dilemma of copyright. If the song you are talking about has been already stolen and you took no such measures then I guess whoever posted the song first on any kind of media will be considered the owner, as long as that person has a proof of posting.
Song stealing is a fucked up business, good luck.
Fahad.

Copyright, yes that is the way to go. I think it goes for all the original composers. Muziboo team needs to perhaps look into it closely as more and more originals get uploaded. But regardless, it is the responsibility of each artist to ensure their work is copyrighted. I am not sure how it is done in India, out here in the US, originals are sent to the copyright org upon filing a fee. That’s about it….Good luck.

If you make sure you install the vocals on all your music this helps to at least make it harder to steal your work.

Mussawer,
I’m in a dilemma over this. First we need proof that the song was written and composed by you.
Secondly, if Zeeshan provides proper attribution, then it basically becomes a cover of your song.
Wouldn’t it be ok for others to perform covers, as long as they give proper attribution?
