Mukul, overall thoughts — the intro is pretty good, but it’s not the a very impressive cover I’ve heard. Luckily, the flaws are basic and trivial and you can easily fix them with the next recording.

a) The echo is way too long. Use the echo to let an alaap linger around for a bit, but the moment the next verse starts, the echo needs to have faded out. The aftermath of the previous verse kind of interferes with the vocals, making it less impressive.

b) You tend to go off-scale when towards the end of the alaap. Atif Aslam is the best alaap-er around, so I suggest you sing the alaaps in your own manner than try to replicate him, it would sound a lot better.

Suggestions:

a) Try increasing the bass as it add depth to the overall feel, and it also helps overcome the vocal limitations.

b) the ‘Doorie’ bits, and the alaap, you seem to be singing louder than otherwise, and the background rhythm is hardly audible.

c) I notice you’ve done a bit of LTR panning too, panning works best with instrumental pieces and it might murder the vocals if not timed well, so I suggest you use panning in the solos only.

You have done a lot of hardwork I must say…. I would like to hear more from you…. as Sandil Mentioned few Suggestion: 1. First Rule….Keep Notes intact to attatrct anybody towards ur music…. 2. You use ECHO too much….I understand you like it a lot……try using Reverb instead of Echo if you Feel using it too Often…. 3. Your vocals just go little faster than Rhythm at many places….in Rhythm based song keeping beats intact is very important 4. About Panning the Vocals, I dont see harm doing a panning until you match the panning to the beats….You can do panning of Vocals also….But make sure its is on the BEATS…… I hope u won’t mind….

mixin isn’t playin 2 tracks at a same time…. ur beats isn’t overlappin…. just work on that…. n yes please echo effect sounds better if used wisely……
