unnai allaal ( revised own ... Lyrics & Chords
revised the vocals from the last time as the comments alarmed my vocals …….I know I am not still perfect ………. Please do comment about lyrics and composition and arrangements too….as this is own composition and does deserve more comments than just the vocals in a karaoke song,as original compositions goes through lot of work from scratch….so please be open to all other areas of the song too….thanks for improving my abilities through your comments.Info

Maruthi….
As said earlier the composition is just awesome…
Vocals are much better now. “sirikkum pozhuthu…” sangati could be more clearer…I felt the vocals were low at some places. There were some off pitch notes too…
But overall very soothing…

Sounds very good Maruthi. I am not qualified to comment on the intricacies of orchestration, but can tell you the song sounded pleasing and find myself humming the tune already. Keep up the good work.

Hi Subbu, Basically this track is a super fast composition of mine. I am happy it filled your ears soothingly. The sense of this song is a longing husband thinks of his wife while she is away from him…….so intha jeevan romba paavam……is there because the previous lines say ….mazhai thoovum muzhu megam , malai melae pani thuvum, inlangatrum ennai vaattum…….so all these are cold , in need of the warmth he says intha jeevan romba paavam in a naughty and take it easy way…….so the expression is of classical mood ………the analysis of the musical expresion is done before i sang that part. Its good it appealed to you I was doing something different there.thanks,
Maruthi

Nice Maruthi! Liked the tune. Sounds a lot like “Theendaai” in many places. As Govind said, you should redo the vocals and repost.

Adithi and TGK I agree both of your comments I ddnt even practice the song actually to get it correct on my throat I was thinking the lyrics aside and trying to fit in different phrases…as it felt write I just hit the record button…honestly i didnt even wrote the lyrics on the paper I just sang it as it flow into me
Though the tune sounds like theendai this tune falls in garahrapriya and or also Kanada and other related and onrelated ragaas…. Could we call this a Misra kanada….or miserable kanada ?

Hi Maruthi,
This is a beautiful tune not very well rendered. I would suggest you don’t try to “frame” it as being in a raagam. To me it sounds more like megh-malhar (which has this unusual quality of sounding like kanada in some part and like desh in the others. I did not really get a theeNdaai feel except for the similar percussion employed. Violins sound midi-ish and need more depth. Percussion too. Other instruments sound fine.

Murali nice to see you back here,
I will sure redoo this song when time permits me…. yes I think you got it closer on the raaga …but when I used both the nishadams it sounded so nice and thats where its confusing me….this is a cinema kind of melody so i will skip that ragaa based thought…lol

The composition is really good Maruthi. As others have mentioned, you should definitely redo the vocals. Did you use some sort of pitch correction in this? The vocals sound synthesized at certain places.

Maruthi…
Very good composition. Really an exceptional tune. Not repeating what all have said about singing.
Good that you are planning to redo it,…I felt you were not too sure about the composition of certain “sangati”s . The clarity was lacking a bit …
Looking forward to your revised one…

Maruthi,
Very nice composition. Why not spend more time to make it perfect from a pitching stand point. Tune is catchy. Look forward to more tunes from your bank :-).

Maruthi ….excellent composition ….your vocals sound very refreshing ….nice soothing piece of work ….The only thing which I didnt like much was the strings playing in the first anthra…it took some beauty off ….could have had another instrument like flute….again just some of my observations ….not at all an expert in this arena.
Keep it up and let these creative juices flowing :-)

Maruthi,
I am commenting on the tune only at this time.
Pallavi started well upto the 2 nd line, 3rd line (Azhago Azhagu) became redundant instead of transcending to the next level. Pallavi sounded incomplete. You can take advantage of the good start by reworking on the 3 line and go upto may be 6 lines before coming back to line one in the pallavi.
Charams were definitely better.

Much better Maruthi. Very soothing composition. I cant follow the lyrics, so wont comment. The singing is much in this version. I agree with Jay to some extent about the tones being a little too harsh. But thats part of the learning process I guess. Really commendable!

This is wonderfully done, Maruthi. Felt you could have limited those echos in charanams to only where necessary. Overall, very soothing composition!!!!

good composition and expressive vocals. somehow i felt the pallavi was incomplete as it ends abruptly. maybe you can add the first two lines of the pallavi again if you dont want to add anything new. guess we all are spoiled by the usual style of listening to the pallavi twice in the beginning :)
i like the aalap which concludes the song, very thoughtful.
Best Regards,
Rosh

Strangely i also was reminded of “Theendai”….maybe its the style that i am relating to….:)
I agree that the singing sounded amateurish in some places….but i am not complaining about….
i have listened to this 3 times in a stretch already…the tune is so beautiful….the 2nd interlude is amazing…i dont like "azhago azhagu "…it seems like taking the same tune of the previous line…
btw….is this a solo or a duet?i would have loved it to be duet…dunno if the lyrics are meant for that anyway!
