Your voice suits this song quite a bit :-) A few offs ~1.18/.20 for instance. The landing/ending notes could have been better I felt.

Unfortunately, the charanams have quite a few offs, and the subtle brigas need work.

Good effort, nonetheless!!

Hi Maruthi,

A relatively recent Ilayaraja hit song that you have handled it a bit casually I felt. When I listen to the original singer I can see how hard he is trying to comply with Ilayaraja’s genius. He barely satisfies the Maestro actually is what I feel and you can hear the subtle cautious fear in his voice trying to do justice.

The reason I feel is that this song starts out with a subtle trendy melody and then becomes a more hardcore folk melody in the charanams, which is the staple-ground of the Maestro. And all of this is shrouded in a trendy modern rhythm. That is the genius of the man!

Maruthi, Whilst you have done a good job of a quick recording, what you really need to do is bring in more tonal variation to take your song closer to the listener. Softness should interplay with boldness in such songs to make them more intimate listening. Your subtle pitching issues are a result of lack of tonal variation (or polish) is what I feel. Please take this as constructive feedback.
