Bio

Khairul “KHRL” Amir started to immerse himself into the music world when he was just 16 of age. He never liked music back in his primary school years, to the extend of excusing himself from music class every week. It persisted till his lower secondary school days till he was exposed other than chords and reading musical notes. He learnt how to play the keyboard when he attended a school programme. His interest for music began to build up from that day on, but unfortunately he didn’t have much opportunities of exposure due to his low-self esteem and the demoralising feedbacks he gained from his peers and family. One fine day, he plucked up the courage to prove most of people wrong by learning more about music. Coincidentally, he was exposed to mainstream and Hip Hop/Rap music. With daily dose of rap music, he started to scribble a line or two which ended into verses.

This burning interest turned into a passion when he was brought to local gigs that shared with the same passion as he has. It was a matter of time that he exponentially acquire knowledge in poetry writing and making instrumentals from the people he got to know in the local scene.

He developed an alter-ego which Khairul named KHRL, he joined heads with Mont from Sei-Shuttle cooking up beats that are experimental inclined but still pleasant to the mainstream’s ears.
