ENYA, is one of our family’s Favorite Female singers along with Sade, Loreena Mckennet and quite a few others.
Thanks to BOB’s Karaoke Player, website from where i borrowed this K-track.
Didn’t find the original K-track, so had to play around a little bit with whatever i could find. Anyways, i had to give it a try, for its wonderful and meaningful lyrics. I know trying an English number by female singers is a road less traveled ……Well, here is my humble effort.

nice attempt Janhavee….you seemingly have put in a lot of effort and particularly liked the fact you sound reasonably “western” in this attempt of yours……I dont know the original though….in a similar genre……you could attempt sad movies(Sue thompson version),I have a dream(abba version) type numbers

Thank You all for your time and appreciation for the humming part. Infact, its much different from the original. As the interlude seemed very bland to me, i filled in with the same tune humming. Someday i will try to get my hands on the original K-track and re-do it. I urge you all to listen to ENYA’s music ….she is very soulful :-)

You have made a good attempt… However I agree with Surajit on the mixing… ur voice wasn’t very well blended with the backing track, which is essential to get the ‘feel’ this song originally has right… Anyway good attempt… keep singin… cheers…!!

Surjit & Neha……I am still new to mixing environment…. learning new stuff and trying to incorporate it. Moreover, as i said earlier the backing track was bland at some points so had to fill in with the humming. Guess with a better K-track it might sound better :-)

Janhavee,
Both me and my wife love Enya. This is a decent attempt. However, diction and feel are quite different and could be a lot better. Enya’s songs have a haunted/dreamy feel and she is pitch perfect. Part of the beauty is in the mix and part of it is her voice. I thought something was missing as far as this was concerned. But I am glad you are bold enough to try different things.

I mainly attempted this song because of the wonderful lyrics felt it was kind of easy to sing.
