congrats on your new recording gear……recording and singing both are very nice ….liked the expressions and specially the voice  ….high notes were handled well….initial alaap in the original has more murkis (from memory) which seems like you havent attempted….is it "thode beiman ho tum " around 2:28 …cldnt make out the ‘beiman’ part….overall very good …liked the laugh too :-) Keep singing :-)

Nice to hear your voice after such a long long time Jane :) First of all, belated happy anniversary !!

Your new recording set up really seems to show in this. Voice sounds nice and clear. However a little rustic to be honest, guess you will bounce back within no time.

Touching on the clipping aspect which you mentioned, it is best controlled at the source. Do move away from the mic when you go in for the higher registers. Your problem will get solved :)

Your giggle was absolutely awesome. Nice rendition overall— 5/5 for sure, and welcome back :D

to avoid clipping

1.Sing from a distance as Meera Suggested……
2.Reduce the input level in the M AUDIO front side of the appropriate socket.
3.You can also use the pad button of the corresponding socket.which will insert a -20 db pad after the pre amp……

Great job Jane. Singing was very good. Mix was good for starters too. Obviously a long way to go. Echo Meera’s point about moving away from the mic at the high registers. You need to learn about compression/normalization. It will even out the highs and lows. Also when you sing a song in multiple takes, you need to be careful not to make it obvious. You will learn as you go along.
