WoW Jane!! Good selection….Kavita Krishnamurthy is utter delight to listen in this composition.

At place its exquisite….The start felt like original….“Maar Daala” is the punch phrase however and could have sounded better….Also at places rendition was little too nasal for my liking.

But amazing expressions and vocal clarity….You did full justice to this tough composition!!

5/5 undoubtedly ! :-)

Hey Jane,

First of all, thanks for the compliments… It was good to see you attempt this song even when you were unwell… Here is what I thought about this track…

- Good pitching

- Good variations (harkats)

- The song overall is rendered well… However, if you could a little softer it would have given a better feel…
Just as an example, listen to 0:08 to 0:19… Also, 2:10 to 2:19 and then notice the sudden change in rendition at 2:20… What I mean is the notes are rendered much sharper than what the feel demands…

- Pronunciation could be improved on quite a few words like “MaaRA dala”, “AuRa” (“Aur” at 2:26)… However the overall pronunciation is good… I was looking for all the Urdu words in the song and all of them were pronounced well

- Recording could have improved… In fact I would say you have already improved… Only I know it, as of now!! :D

All in all a great track and I was glad I got to mix this… Of course my suggestion to the folks out here would be to download the track and then listen to it for better effect… Keep up the good work Jane… Cheers… \m/

Excellent rendition Jane ….not a big fan of Kavita’s voice but still liked it very much ….had a little AVIAL flavour to it :-) You captured the mood of the song very well and also your pitching was flawless.

Very nicely done. Agree with everyone about “Maar Dala” itself. But other than that it was very good.

DJD – Nicely mixed man. I thought the reverb was a little too much though. But you were probably going for a haunted feel or something.

Hey, thanks a lot for the comments George… The original song was shot in a huge hall and hence there was much more reverb added to the original song than what I have added!! So, the reverb was required to balance the vocals with the backing track and get the feel… The original track has more!! LoL… The recording was an issue actually and had to keep the reverb as much as it is right now…
