Scribbles on Muziboo

my personal opinion on this is that scribbles should be made private. or at least give an option to the member to lock it. this way it can act as PMs (private messages)

this way i can give/take feedback in private, exchange email IDs and form a stronger offline bond.

as i said this is a personal opinion, and i wd like to know what other respected members think of this idea.

HK, you rightly said. I’ve also sent some improvements/suggestion to Nithya but this is also a much needed one. Almost all forums/portal have PM/chat features. Right now it is too open but making the site more intact with rules coded will project a very good user experience.

My one more suggestion i forgot to mention to Nithya was to add automatic signature to comments. i.e., If we go back and change the signature, all the previous made comments signature also should respectively change. this way, people will always come to know about something new you’ve done/posted.

thx friends for your support :)

srini, that is a good suggestion of auto-append of signature. may be it is simply a question of adding one more field in the profile.

a few features i would like to have….

1. add as a friend feature. when a member becomes our friend, 2 things happen. whenever a ‘friend’ uploads a new song, we get an email. secondly, in our home page we can see a listing of the latest comments our ‘friends’ have made on various releases. both these are strictly in the public domain, and not necessarily the ‘privileges’ of a friend. so it does not make any sense to ‘deny’ someone as a friend. so i suggest instead of ‘add as friend’, replace it by ‘add as favorite’. this way we can scrap the accept/deny business.

2. groups. there is no page with a listing of all groups. each time we get a listing of 5 groups under the ‘Featured Groups’ heading.

3. members. ideally i wd like to have a members page. example as a new green tab at the top after home, music, community, record. members page can have a listing of members in a tabular form with various statistics like # of uploads, # of favorites, Comments made, comments earned, etc. This way, if there are around 20 members in one page, then within the top 3 pages we can come to know who are the leading singers of Muziboo that we shd follow, etc.

4. language. i have no interest in english music. so if 9 out of 10 songs released here is in English, then the gree ‘Music’ tab at the top, which when clicked gives the recent releases is a waste for me. what i suggest is
a. whenever a member uploads a song, he/she should mention the language (from a pull down menu).
b. a member shd give his ‘favorite’ languages in his profile. example i might give hindi, kannada, marathi as my fav languages.
so when i click ‘music’ at the top, i shd get recent releases only from these languages.

5.comments. some releases have a huge # of comments and they all come in one page. so it slows down. can we have 20 comments in a page, and many pages?

thanks!
