This outstanding offbeat song was composed by genius composer Late Rahul Dev Burman da on some really fantastic lyrics by Late Anand Bakshi sahab. Picturised on drunk Rajesh Khanna (snubbed by leading lady Sharmila Tagore, a forced prostitute which leads him to another prostitute home, courtesy character artist Om Prakash), this song went on to become one of the biggest hits of bollywood those days even in competition with such masterpieces from the same film as “Chingari koi bhadke….” and ’Kuchh to log kahenge….". The song is preceded by a hilarious scene of Om Prakash eating Golgappas after filling them with whisky !!!!! instead of usual sweet sour paani)The song is as usual sung by Kishore da in a way which is just out of this world. I emphasise here that there is no song (old or new) even slightly similar to this one….
