LEGENDARY SINGER
KISHORE KUMAR GANGULY DA
ON HIS 81st BIRTH ANNIVERSARY TODAY (4.8.2011)
This song was a trendsetter in the way that it virtually changed the life of Kishore da….he went on top of charts for next 17 years or so till his sad demise….this number has one of the best played combination of ACCORDIAN and SAXOPHONE (played by Basu Deo Chakravorti and Manohar Singh who later on made a composer duo Basu-Manohari). The song was actually composed by Rahul Dev Burman da since the original music director of this film (his father S.D.Burman da)was bedridden those days. Kishore da was at his best in the number on lyrics of Late Anand Bakshi sahab. Another interesting information on this song, which was one of the biggest hits of those days, is that it was picturised on Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore in a single shot (no multiple shots joined together as is the practice in films).
