Jian Lakerson left California in the late ’80’s to find someplace more like his ancestral home, often said to be “yearning for the fijords.” Schooled in various traditional and ethnic idioms Jian found the blend of folk, classical, jazz, country and eclectic genres to be a wider palette for his musical whimsey, more like art to make you feel, with a large dose of rock which is so inclusive. Not being an elitist on technique or style, Jian and his cohorts in Pagasys bring their own musical statements to the forfront pulling references from their sprawling range of combined experiences and the emotional power of their passionate beliefs; life, love, ecstacy, fullfilment, and healing form the matrix of their intent.
