Bio
Black China White aka J-wu has been spitting lyrics and making music for years, despite the cards being stacked against him, China has done what he has always set out to do, since the tragic death of his twin brother when he made a promise to himself to take his twin’s monniker and make it a household name. He often looks back to the words of an American hero when confronted with the barriers that have been surpassed by those before him, and the many that are still intact, “Break ON Through”, to quote Jim Morrison, one of his favorite artists and performers who’s stage presence he has idolized since the first time seeing the Lizard King on stage hypnotizing those before him. Black China has a breathtaking stage performance that just pours out emotion as if he is summoning the ghosts of James Brown, Tupac Shakur, Bun B, Easy E, Bob Marley and The Lizard King himself. He is the ultimate Dark Horse like many of the rappers before him who have been such heavy influences from Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jay Z, Eminem, Nas, Notorious BIG, Gucci Mane, Big Daddy Kane, Pharcyde, WuTang Clan, and Pharoahe Monch just to name a few, to the legends like George Clinton and Parliament Funk, Afrikka Bambatta, and local hero, Cincinnati’s Bootsy Collins. When the chips were stacked against him, he went all in, and only time will tell just how far Black China White will go, but the main goal in all of this is to inspire others as he has been inspired himself.
