The rendition is good…however I had high expectations,after your kamban yaemandhan …firstly the timbre is very different am not sure whether it is due to recording or mixing…vocal level is higher compared to the track…may be the original Am scale was low for you…I am 100% sure you can do much better than this…in Kaar kaalam,the r was not heard at all..however your twist sounded nice

Nice rendition Arvind. ‘Kaalam’ in pallavi and charanam ending hummimg ‘ohh’ cud have been better. Your improvisations were so natural. Felt it was not ur best comparing to your other IR songs. Keep them coming. Happy to listen to IR covers. I like the lyrics of the song very much, fav line being ‘Poghum padhai dhoorame…’.

Arvind – good pick of song and well sung! Espec the higher notes were very well taken and also the laugh :) – you have been able to capture the spirit of the song well. I felt that some places like “thoovum kaalam” in pallavi and a few landing notes could have been better.

Very nicely sung Arvind. Some nuances as noted by Murali got missed and though some of ur improvisations hit the jackpot, some didnt. Great mixing too.

Btw, do you use a condenser microphone? Could you please update your recording instruments details in the instruments section?

Very nice effort and good singing Arvind. Clapss for that. Please take care of some of the original note .. especially in these two places (1) “endrum ulavume” (2) “nee neenthavaa”. Improvisation is good for singers. But for some songs not able to accept these kind of changes. This is the one of the song in that list. (ithellam saagaa varam petral paadalgal .. innum 100 years kazichi intha songa kettalum every Millimeter apadiye bit bita nammoda mind ku varum apadi oru song ithu) All the best.

First of all, i don’t think the notes varies in those places you mentioned.

Whenever a song is heard, most of the listeners expects the same style of the original singer and that kind of singing is specially appreciated by all. Actually, that is not the sign of good singing at all.

Good singing should produce something innovative with different improvisation of the original product. Every voice and every talent has its uniqueness. People who has their originality in singing, will sing in the way they interpret the song. and of course with the guidance of original notes.

Saaga varam petra paadalgalaga irunthalum, ithey paadalai KJY paadi irunthalum, athu avarudaya baaniyai than kondirukum. “Ithuvum nandraga illaye” endru than ninaika thondrum.Ellame Ketpavarin kelvi thiramaiyayi poruthathu.

If you have that openness, definitely you can appreciate any song by any singer, even you are crazy about the original song.

I was just bored and Since Sangeedha megam is one of my favourite song was browsing for this song in muziboo and was surprised to see it in your list.
WOW what a flow……And those lines with sangeetha mEga……m and that smile was an extra plus point!
Loved it and thanks for singing my favourite song.
I don’t know How and why I love this song, I was so fond of this song which made me sing this on stage at a wedding reception of my relative 6 months ago. I am pretty much sure they would have thought is she mad ? Why is this gal singing this song at a wedding reception lol…BUT who cares :)

nice improvisation at the end of the first charanam….a little off though….i am sure if u did this part again with a little more care it would be awesome….but r impro was very nice.
a little more feel was required at “endan moochum indha pattum….” a line full of emotion especially true for Balu, the great!
