Kannan Amudhu Album - Karan... Lyrics & Chords

Was browsing through some of my old CDs and started listening to my Kannan Amudhu project CDs. What I heard surprised me!. The studio stereo mixes sounded better than the final mastered version. So here I am uploading one of the songs in this album which is pre-mastered. It proved to me how important and delicate a task mastering a song is!. Mastering can either boost or kill a song!.

This song is about Kannan and his beauty and also narrates the tale of Kuselan visiting Kannan … for those of you who know a bit about Kannan story episodes!.

All songs in the album that I produced were composed and arranged by the eminent Rajkumar Bharathi (great grandson of the GREAT Bharathiyar) and recorded in 2004. Instruments have been played by very notable carnatic musicians. Yours truly sang 10 songs in this album … way beyond my depth I think … but somehow managed it I think, just about!.

Thanks Vasu, Raj, Harshan and Hari … much apprecieated. I think there are slight offs here and there … we recorded 10 songs in 2 days, and I was exhausted and singing with a cough believe it or not … and RKB squeezed me a lot and told me not to sing in SPB style and all that … he really wanted it simple and straight … and believe me I struggled to get the OK from him!.

To be honest I know that my singing in this album is not really up to professional standard…but I gave it a good go … and proud of that!.

A very energetic and intriguing music composition and rendition in that the choice and variety of instruments lends a refreshing experience – the imperfections in your voice here and there lends realism to the rendition – its like an artist’s imperfections on a canvas which often make a painting more valuable.
Also loved the mixing in terms of the crispness and fidelity of each piece of the orchestra.

Dwarak … you are so right about me not singing in SPB style in this album…I just was not allowed to and was rigourously told off!. A good thing or a bad thing it is hard to judge but for these compositions have to follow the composer of course!…Thanks a lot.
