Here is my adventure with a TMS song from the movie Panam Padaithavan (1965), hero MGR!.
My good friend Harshan here suggested this song to me and sent me the track … thanks Harshan I got to record it tonight … and hopefully you like it. I think the high register of TMS was a bit of a challenge for me and I traversed it to the best of my ability!. I tried to give my own feel to the song … lyrics are quite philosophical and rings true to life in general!.
I think the music must be by the greats MSV/Ramamurthy? … not sure.

Nice rendering of this philosophical number… As pointed by you, there were some places where ur vocals didn’t hit the right notes… Given that covering a TMS number is very laborious, this was a decent attempt… His voice is as strong as a corundum capable of cutting through… And your keeping away from singing does reflect in this rendition… Offs kept frequenting and I wish constant practice by you would wax your capabilities and project them better… Good Luck, my dear total package!!!

One of my favourite songs from TMS. I felt that some nuances could have been better (especially since I am so used to listening to the original). But I thought it was a good attempt! :)

Completely a different attempt from your earlier songs…. You have proven through this song that you are a versatile singer….
Of course, this did not have the TMS nuances…. But has its own charm due to your beautiful voice and rendition…. I enjoyed listening to this….

Agree with your Raj … hearing it today I think my problem is two-fold … one is my sinus issue and the other is lack of regularity in singing … a deadly cocktail that still spurns my desire to sing! … which is rather surprising to myself!. Nevertheless I am keeping the fireplace lit from time to time … otherwise the chimney may close up!.

Arvind, I agree with the pointers above. Though you sang it in your own style there were places where the tune was very different. I’m sure you know the parts i’m refering to. Regardless, it was a good attempt. Hope you feel better soon.
